I am truly pathetic. I am also a whiney sissy boy.

If you are referring to the thread starter, well I just have to say, what is up your ass, skippy? The guy has a really bad case of OCD...OCD can't be fun.

I have ocd's too, that I have to encounter everyday at work. If you've seen a shrink, and they think it isn't bad enough to take meds, **** and suck it up...

Hewas washing dishes... hardly enough to complain about when you have to wash dishes.

There are gloves to use. I'm a girl, and I've busted pots like a mutha. There are gloves that reach to your shoulders. We also have a three sink pot area, and a dish machine on the other side of the kitchen, and sprayers. The mist is not that bad. Neither are the gloves. If you have that big of an issue with the water, consult with your manager about ordering these gloves, or go out and buy them yourself, and see if they'll reimburse you for them. Then, put disposable gloves on underneath. When you need better mobility, just take one of the larger gloves off...

Jesus... do you really need vagina around everywhere to get anything accomplished out side of the bedroom anymore?!

...stress...

That's what is boils down too...

I get that way when I'm stressed too... I just don't actually throw up...

Sounds to me like your first job is going to teach you some work ethic if you stick with it.

ew. my first job was as a dishwasher at a country kitchen buffet.

i still can't do dishes by hand to this day after that damn job.

I don't work.My parents buy everything for me.

We used to have a maid, but we fired her because she was black. We didn't want people to think we were racist...you know, for having a black person working for us.Now we only have illegal Guatemalan children working for us.Gahhh...I love my Pedro and Selena.

I'll be honest retail doesn't pay very well, when I first left school I tried it for about a year. So I went and did a physical job for 4 years, I became a bricklayer. Your body gets conditioned to it, you get lots more money I got day release to colege to get my city and guilds in construction, once a week for the first two years. In my last year I was able to go to college in the evenings and complete my A levels and go to University to study Molecular Biology.
Physical jobs when you're young are where it's at for money.

I know. I was doing electricial work with my Dad for a while, and I've got one leg. But I don't think he could deal with the dirt and grime if he's working and sweating and stuff. Besides, with enough retail experience, he could be a car salesman at like, 22.

For some reason, Whirly's story reminded me of that scene from the movie "Real Genius" where the snotty Professor Hathaway comes home to find the construction workers he's hired standing around talking and he goes "What are you looking at? You're laborers; you should be laboring. That's what you get for not having an education.". LOL! :D

must be nice to have the freedom to quit a job because it's icky and hard. I've done medical trials for money, I've worked graveyard shift at the porn store, I've cleaned the bathrooms at Disneyland. Wait until you are the one who has to take care of the bills, and rent and food and mommy and daddy aren't taking care of you anymore. You'll find yourself growing a LOT more capable of dealing with a bit of dirty water.

The world is indeed harsh, but some have found a method of somewhat avoid this.Hence the older men who still live with their parents.

Fair points mate.

Never seen it Jag, but I had a snotty girlfriend who convinced me to go back into education by telling me, "you're quite clever, why didn't you do something with it". I laughed and laughed after I'd got to University before her and she had to do a year of retakes because of her relationship with me. It became especially funny at the time when I dumped her two weeks into going away for someone I met on my course. In many ways I was a right dick in those days. Guess we all grow up.

Most OCD people I know enjoy cleaning. Other than that, yeah, work sucks. You should probably give suicide a try. At least slice your wrists up a little and get some bleeding done.

Nice - coming from a philosopher.

Am I evil for laughing at the first post? It seems almost not real.

I believe life does get much harder than cleaning dishes and food containers. I did that and many more things for 4 years when I worked in an Italian Deli, but you make the best of it. I hated the job, made $5.00 an hour off the books, but for some reason it was a great and memorable time in my short life lol

Can't blame him for being disgusted by washing dishes, that disgust me too...not to that extent, but still gross.

Couple ways to look at it: Either quit now and find something you can do without affecting your OCD. Or stick it out and maybe you'll build a tolerance that will help you deal with the OCD.

When it comes to working. A few people do what they love, some do what they hate, most do what they can tolerate.

:o Damn i have a menial job like yours and i don't complain i just think of really random demented #$%^ If i was like you i would start drinking hard liquor or something. Well my manager did offer to get me vodka because i always do the dishes. Anyway suck it up or die. Dying is easier but that whole Suicide sends you to hell @#$5 is completely wrong!:( :O
