Reading the EW piece on Watchmen I got confirmation that there's something regarding alternative fuels and energy in the script.
Strange as it was something I mentioned back in March 2006 on the AICN boards when the movie was supposed to be directed by Greengrass and set during present days.

With the movie set back in 1986 it makes less sense
If Snyder, Lloyd Levin or Larry Gordon happen to read these boards, I would like to tell them that an invitation for two to the world premiere (flight from Italy included) would suffice as payment for my ideas. Sure if they want to throw some money to me to option my high concept period action spy adventure treatment, we can talk about it.

There's a difference between energy storage and production.
