Hey guys new member here.

I wanted to share my experience with you. Last summer, I was a Gotham City SWAT team extra for TDK. It was so much fun. I shot 3 scenes, and I believe have a real chance of being on screen.

I don't know if I'll make the cut, but I'll be sure to let you guys know. As if I needed another reason to be excited for this movie.

The experience of actually working in the movie was great. I went to 3 over night shoots, and had many hours of sitting around waiting for my scene. But once our scene was set to shoot, Nolan himself would get us in a group and tell us how he wanted us to "act" when the cameras were rolling.

My only complaint is I did not see Bale or Ledger. The only big name I saw was Gary Oldman (which was really cool). I did see Batman's and the Joker's double, so I saw them in full costume. I also saw 5 batpods, but no batmobile.

Overall it was a great experience, and I cant wait for this movie! :brucebat:

Cool, could you describe your scenes, please?

sure, should I ask a mod to move this to the spoiler forum? My scenes certainly give away nothing about the plot, but I just wanted to be sure. I wont even click in the spoiler forum, I dont want to know!

Yeah ask a mod. Describe your scenes and after that get out of the forum as fast as you can :cwink:

Hey man thats awesome, I envy you for being able to have that kind of experience!! Welcome to the Hype!

here are my scene details....nothing major at all.

my first scene is directly after the opening scene when the joker gets away in a school bus. The scene is the SWAT team searching the bus (its parked). I am in the very front of the bus so I think I'll be on screen if they use it!

the second scene was on LaSalle St, right after the big truck flips over and crashes. There is a press conference with Harvey Dent and I am directly behind him! Another good chance of getting on camera.

The third scene is in a SWAT truck, in high speed chase witht the Joker. I probably wont be on screen for this one, because of where I was sitting, but I'll know I was in there! (and the Joker sadly was not there when I filmed this)

thats fricking awesome!!

Can you give any details as to what was said by Dent at the conference? OR nay info on the bus examination?
??

the best part was being fully decked out in SWAT gear. The guns were heavy as hell! And I did have a helmet and goggles, but my goggles were on my helment and not covering my face. :woot:

No, I could not hear what the press conference was about. But it was cool as hell between takes, I could hear Aaron Eckhert going over his lines, over and over again. good stuff!

and the joker did get away. We couldnt find him. :woot:

right on!

congrats on your role. sounded like a blast.

Ok serious question time!

Did you get to touch Gary Oldmans mustache?
and how was it?

Cool beans

Someone filmed a bit of that press conference from an adjacent building, the only thing we know about it is one of the reporters asks..
Mr. Dent, Mr. Dent, was it your plan or the Batman's that led to the arrest of the Joker.

Dent has at least 3 press conferences in the film, what a media ****e :woot:

Cool! Did you get to meet Aaron Eckhart? I've heard he's a pretty cool guy in real life.

I've done some extra work myself (nothing tdk related) and yeah, an awful lot of time is spent waiting around, it's quite stupid really, you stay on set for eight hours to get a total of 4 seconds of finished film. although all that down time allows me plenty of time to raid the snack table  one shoot I was on had whole subway sandwiches on the table, I must've had 3 or 4 of them:whatever:. Extra work is fun stuff, albeit a tad boring at times.
