I work in the morning...

Sunday night I had a 4 pm to midnight shift. I have to be back at 8 am. I have a 40 minute commute. My coworkers honestly think I'm being trolled by management.

My manager's the same way, he'll schedule me for 3rd shift (10p-6a usually) and then I'll have to be back the next day at 2p.

Pisses me off.

What's your job?

I work in IT for Whole Foods Market.

It's actually a pretty decent gig. Just one of those "overwork you and under-appreciate you" kinda deals.

[BLACKOUT]So essentially, a job.[/BLACKOUT]

I have a rotating shift.

Day - 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Afternoon - 3:30 PM - 1:00 AM
Graveyard - 12:00 AM - 8:00 AM

No, they're nine hours shifts Monday to Friday. I work two of weeks days, two weeks afternoons, two weeks graveyards. I can't believe you're not clear on it.

Yeah, it can be pretty tough for me at times. And I know you're messing, don't take me that serious lol!

:oldrazz:

I average about 6 hours of sleep a night. Working + school = sucks!

Well that's crappy. These days I work from 6pm -1am (or less depending on the work we have).

I used to have a job at a bakery where fairly often we'd work 5-6 days a week from 8am to whenever we finished which could be between 10pm to 1 am then be there the next day at 8am. So my team would be working at least 12 hour days and when we came in the next morning people would be making mistakes and getting hurt since we'd be running those shifts for months at a time. One guy ran the bagel ovens and he'd have large burns about 4 inches long and 1 inch wide all over his arms from where he accidentally brushed up against the hot racks. The management gave no ****s and just told us to hurry up since we were going to be working til midnight again.

I was in charge after the last supervisor left and they refused to promote me since that would mean a pay raise and the idiots we hired said that if we didn't have a supervisor tell them what to do then they'd do whatever the **** they wanted and they'd just leave whenever they wanted leaving more work for the rest of us. The office manager who ran the floor said that he'd talk to them but he never would since he'd always vanish into his office when we needed him so he'd b**** me out because we're three hours behind because half my staff vanished.

And they still have the same ****ing problems over a year after I left.

And I thought my job sucked.

It never ceases to amaze me how cheap and callous people can be.

I have said it before, I'll say it again, punching people who are ***** should be legal. The world would be such a better place if superiors had to fear reprisals from their workers.

But until that day, I guess wage slaves will just have to half ass their job, and take their contempt out on the customers.

That's the thing, I take pride in my work. If I do it to any less than the best of my ability than I'm severely disappointed in myself. I did my best for the years I worked there while they had a lot of people who half assed it and just slacked off while the rest of us worked. That's what made me so mad.

Nope. Bare minimum allowed by law. Only got raises when they absolutely had to and even then they put it off as long as possible.

And boy howdy did they ***** about the overtime.

I worked in a kitchen that refused to pay overtime, and even tricked us to work off the clock (said we'd get the hours added, but never did). The latter only stopped after someone seriously threatened to sue. Turnover was insane.

I truly hope I will never have to work with food again. It actually got to the point that I started disliking food period.

I work 12-9 today, then 7am-4 tomorrow. It really sucks.

I don't go to meetings. F*** it. Write me up.
