So anyone else working the day after Thanksgiving? I work at Target and I am working from 4:00am to 1:pm in the electronics department. Oh what a joyous morning it will be!

Anyone else?

lol accidental :p. And I don't envy your job!

I'm working at midnight at Old Navy Outlet. And not just any Outlet. The one in Texas that has the most international clientele in the country. People bus to this outlet from Mexico.

It's gonna be crazy!

You're in Chicago? Lived there for 3 years. Which Tarje' do you work at?

:doom: :doom: :doom:

I will be working a half day. But I don't work retail, so it's cool.

I'll be working at Toys R Us. I asked the manager about the hours we'll be given, and he said expect to work about 8 hours. 8 hours is a ****ing breeze. I worked 16 hours in a row back when I worked at Fry's Electronics. Those are "never touch the sunlight" hours. Some say that shift made me go mad.

...

*thunder clap*
MOO HOO HA HA HAAAA!

A few years ago, when I worked Loss Prevention, I worked from 5 until 4PM, then worked at my other job from 4:30 until 9. BF of 2005. That was "great".

Loss Prevention is pretty much a dead job these days. There's like one district guy who helps with internal problems but catching customers has been abandoned.

Apparently it's cheaper to approach thieves with "customer service" than to stop them. Law suits and crap like that. Our magic number at my store is 55. That means if only 55 items leave the store a day, it's a good day.

Wow.

:doom: :doom: :doom:

A few degrees of separation...

Black Friday
Black Saturday
Australian Bushfires
000

I've chucked my name on the volunteer register in SAPOL to be on call for taking 000 calls should worst-come-to-worst this bushfire season.

Still have a psyche test to pass first because of the high-stress environment, but we'll see.

I sleep on that day :hyper:

Black Friday is so stupid.

"I MUST BE THE FIRST TO GET TICKLE ME ELMO FOR TWO DOLLARS, SO I WILL RUN LIKE AN IDIOT & PUSH EACHOTHER!!!!!"

I plan to NEVER go out on Black Friday. I'd rather spend more money than risk my life.

There really is no point in going out and shopping on Black Friday. You can find good deals online; A surprisingly large amount of stores have sales running all Thanksgiving Weekend; you'll usually be able to find an item on sale for Black Friday prices again some time between then and Christmas, only not as heavily advertised.

I work at the Haagen-Dazs at my local mall and I might be scheduled to open at 5 am and work until 11 am, which isn't bad. The only bad (or dumb) thing is.....who the hell is gonna need ice cream that early in the morning? haha

Ice cream before dawn on a cold autumn morning.

No, this shopping day doesn't bring out the worst in businesses at all...

I worked at Wal-Mart for 2 1/2 years and had to do Black Friday twice (4am till 1pm). Now I manage a family dollar and I gotta do another Black Friday there. Thank god we don't have worthwhile merchandise :)

^ha!

Off Thursday and Friday. Both days paid. Will be sleeping, eating and watching football while the women kill each other to save $10.

I always work Thanksgiving and the day after, but I'm on the night shift so the bosses do their best to get us out of the store before we're seen by customers. :o

Haha. The Old Navy (not an Outlet) I work at does that to. Our lucky number is 36.

I work that night... :p
From 4:30pm to Midnight.
And, I don't work retail, so this working on black friday thing really doesn't affect me.

Heya,

Working 11 to 8, and I'm sure longer. =/ We always get the people coming from back from black friday, hungery, tired, and annoyed. =D Good ol' Peter Piper. =/
