Well, if that doesn't take the deconstruction-of-bright-and-sunny-heroic-heroes-set-in-the-future genre just a little too far, I'm not sure what does.

Y'know what's funny? What really irked me in that whole thing wasn't even really anything dark. No, it's the fact that here is yet another instance of a Big Comic Writer who can't seem to imagine any conceivable role for Wonder Woman other than to portray her yet again as nothing but Superman's female counterpart. No no, it's not as if she's got more than enough history and backstory to stand as her own corner if need be; what she actually needs is a Superman to make her relevant in the future!

I have strange priorities, so sue me.
