Okay so, read Infinite Crisis, liked it for the most part. Got a few OYL Superman and Batman trades along with Checkmate and Sinestro Corp War. Life in DC'ville was good. Then started plinking away on getting caught up on Hellboy and BPRD.

So basically,

What the **** happened to Captain Atom and Mary Marvel?

Seriously, could you possibly frag a character worse than these two>

I've heard of all this Cassandra Cain controversy, but even that pales in comparison to what they did to poor Captain A and sweet Mary.

Also, I've heard some people say Final Crisis blows and others that it's really good. So any advice?

Stick your head in the sand until DC gets its **** together.

Don't count on seeing Capt Atom anytime soon and either Mary is going to die or turn good (and then bad, and then good, and so forth) within the year.

Batgirl might be on her way back but odds are stacked heavily against it. Get Final Crisis. It's a mindf*** but fun.

I can't remember where, but I have heard the same thing. Probably some Newsarama article.

I feel like it was a recent issue of Wizard. I haven't been staying current on CBR and Newsarama, but I did just read the last four issues of Wizard, so I think it was in there.

It may well be, but the prospect of seeing Captain Atom in a not-crazy way again still has me excited. Of course, it could just be some alternaverse Captain Atom or something equally lame even if it is true.

Disbelieve it if you want, but I did read that the mainline DCU's Captain Atom will be making a return, as himself, not as a ****ed-up Monarch.

Yes, I think every fan of DC Comics would approve of that, but they'll probably just give the whole thing to Adam Beechen, say that he was on drugs at the time, and have him atone for mass multiverse-wide murder by committing a few more multiverse-wide mass murders.
