Apologies if there's a thread for this. Searched, didn't find one.

Anyone seen this? It wasn't bad. The usual pandering and fair amount of lame jokes, but the baby animals are pretty cute, especially the little T-Rexes. Scrat and Scratte's interactions are just classic, and I think it was worth the prime of admission just to see the "Alone Again" song and it's relevance to this franchise.

This was better then Ice Age 2 and miles better then Shrek 3. Ok lets bring on a Kung FU Panda sequel cause id rather see that then Shrek Goes Fourth

I didn't even realize this movie had come out. Is this series better than Madagascar? I was not a fan of those.

I enjoyed it. I thought it was a little too much of the "same 'ol, same 'ol", but what do you expect from the 3rd movie in a kid's franchise? While it wasn't great, it was good. 7/10..maybe...

Ice Age is from Fox not Dreamworks which is what Madagascar is from and yes its alot better then that poor series. Kung Fu Panda and Over The Hedge is Dreamworks only good movies since Shrek 2.

This one was actually my favorite of the series.

I saw this opening day, and am itching to see it again soon!

I LOVED this, thought it was brilliantly funny, heartwarming, and the best of the series. I personally feel the Ice Age movies get better and better with each one, and am saddened that this one hasn't been getting any of the attention and buzz it deserves (I don't know about you, but I barely saw any trailers for this on tv before it was released...and they've shown even less trailers for it since it's release last week).

Buck was a fantastic new addition to the cast (unlike Crash and Eddie, who were okay in the 2nd movie but more annoying and unlikable a good portion of the time in the 3rd), the animation was stunning, and I was laughing pretty hard throughout the entire film.

Diego didn't really do much in this movie (his problem was introduced and then kind of brushed aside), but that didn't really bother me since he got more focus in the first two films. Sid got more attention in this movie, which I was thrilled to see because he's my favorite.

The rumored 4th movie's plot sounds interesting, and if it does happen I will be seeing it for sure, but it also has the potential of being not-so-good. I'm hoping that it will be even better than the first 3 (since that's how these movies are for me), but I'm also hoping it will be the last one (since I have no idea how they'd follow up to the 4th if the plot will be what it's rumored to be). If we don't get the rumored 4th movie after all, then I'm okay with that too because I felt this 3rd movie was a nice place to end the series as well.

I am so happy that this movie didn't end up being a huge and unfunny disappointment like Shrek 3 was (which has two sequels and a spin-off still on the way, unless they've been scrapped since the announcment right before Shrek 3 came out).

I have noticed how all the first movies (except Madagascar) has some deep morals and meaning. Go watch the original Ice Age... I mean wow...

Then the sequels come along and are just a bunch of jokes...

i liked this movie. yes..lame jokes. cheesy way how the dinosaurs are supposedly extinct..but are living underneath the ice the whole time. :P but it was a cute movie.

i saw it in 3D..that was pretty sweet!

I rather liked the quasi Moby Dick element of Buck and Rudy.

Yes, I'm aware they aren't produced by the same studio. Madagascar is the only other "animal characters" animated movie I've seen.

So there's going to be a 4th movie? This will be "Shreked" to death.

Um Kung Fu Panda was animal character based and its 10 times better then Madagascar. But slightly below Ice Age 1 which i loved alot. Ice Age too me is more consistant then Shrek. Shrek movies kinda getting boring and stayle while Ice Age is still fun and crisper and who doesn;t love the scrat

I'll probably check out Kung Fu Panda at some point.

whats the rumored 4th film about?

Here's the Ain't It Cool article regarding the "confirmed" 4th Ice Age movie.

I think it sounds like it could be really cool and fun, but I could also seeing it being a total disaster if it's not handled right. I would assume it would be the last movie in the series...

This movie was actually pretty funny.

"I feel tingly."
"Please don't say that when you're all pressed up against me."

Same here. And you know what? I think that desPite having less screen time, he was handled way better than in the second one. His whole "Getting over his fear of water desPite chasing down that mom across the river in the first movie" felt more episodic. Like something he'd do in a saturday morning toon than in a movie. It also bugged me that we never saw him hunt or eat in the second one, making me wonder how the hell he lived. It was pretty cool seeing him hunt that deer and have something of a mid-life crisis.

honestly, i would NOT want to see another ice age if they were going to take it in that direction. i feel the movies as a whole have come full circle in the way that the first film manny is so disconnected from everybody because he lost his family and by the end of the 3rd film you see him with what he had before the beginning of the first film. i dont' think they should stop if they legitametly have some great ideas, but taking the characters into present day just sounds too much like night at the museum and i don't want to see these guys out of their natural habitat. some of the best things about these movies is seeing all these prehistoric versions of all these creatures. leave current day animals to madagascar

The new idea is interesting. But I'm not sure if they'll do it, it'd pretty much be the end of the franchise.

Hmm. I'd see it. Sure, it might suck but it would just be interesting to see humans back in the series.

I didn't have much expectations for IA3 but found it quite enjoyable. It was the first movie experience for my 2 1/2 yo daughter and she loved it as did my son who has seen the first two movies and loves the humor of Sid as he did this movie.

Buck worked for me. Know why he was casted with an Australian voice? Because he lives "Down Under."

For the next movie, bring back the boy they saved from the original who is now a teenager or grown-up and let him save the lives of one of the main characters as a way to come full circle with the original.
