The main thing that really pissed me off about 'Thor' was that by 965 AD when it started, Thor himself was just a small child if not a baby. This was already towards the end of Viking Age. None of those old legends and childhood stories Dr. Selvig was told would have made any sense in that context unless the Viking worshipped a hammer-swinging toddler and tales of Loki's treachery were highly embellished accounts of him stealing Thor's juice box. Also, Hela's out of the picture.
So, frankly, I'd love a story where they go back to the 7th or 8th century Scandanavia at least for part of the movie.
