If You Could Be Immortal, Would You Be?

I see things on an extremely cosmic level and I think it would be an incredible opportunity so...yes absolutely. I wish everyone could be. Sadly, since the existence of an afterlife is highly doubtful, I fear an end to consciousness just like everyone who has ever feared death. Think about it...within 20 years we'll confirm the existence of alien life. But for us to reach them it would take over a billion years. Well a billion years from now someone who was still immortal would have reached level 3 on the Kardashev scale. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kardashev_scale how incredible would that be? You wouldn't be bored you'd be out pioneering other galaxies.

Truly immortal or with an escape? I mean could I survive without my head, then no.
