If You See a Father Holding His Child’s Hand, Call the Cops!

Maybe this is just me, but I don't even see the connection!

I bet these are the same ass hats who put leashes on their children. Because god knows that's not degrading. :cmad:

I don't see the connection either. terrible ad.

an ice cream man tried to molest the kid i was babysitting. Just giving defense to the ad.

If the ad was a warning against strangers approaching kids, I would understand. But to call the cops when you see a father holding his kid's hand???

Leashes suck. You need one of those back/chest strap things.

make it "it didnt feel right when i saw them together" and you get the idea imo. its called preventive acting and is not as controversial as the ad might led to believe :whatever:
nevertheless there is the possibility of worried citizens overreacting and "happily using" the phonenumber too often.

Pretty soon fathers won't be able to make eye contact with their kids.

"He's undressing them with his EYES!!!!"

If i'm gonna mollest a child, I'm gonna do it in private, not holdign their hand in public, amatuer mistake.......

(I don't mollest children btw!)

Yeah....sure... lol

Anyways what a stupid ad, i'm telling you now if im walkin down the street with my child i'll be holding their hand. Be damned what people think, their safety comes first!!!

That is f**ked up.

This ad is a brilliant example of what our world has come down to:

1) Distrust
2) Fear
3) Paranoia

:(

This is just plain nuts! So let me if I got this right. I am in the park or a mall with my son, and I am holding his hand while we are walking. Someone sees this and feels "uncomfortable" with it, they call call the police and I go to jail? Who is the nut case that came up with this add and how do I find them? This is just like the same crap that was started a few years ago about not spanking your kid for being bad in public. I can 100% these people behind this add and the anti spanking stuff don't have kids. I'll even go as far to say they never got laid before too. Whats next? You don't feed your kids because it might be poison your giving them? Or better yet once they can walk you let them out in to the world on their own? The wrong people are setting the stanards in this world and it time we went back to the basics.

Be afraid. Fear. They're coming. Look out! Be afraid.

Oh, and referring to the post above--I refuse to believe that organization exists outside of a device for comedy movies. But if it does...for shame.

God damn it. This whole Child Protection thing is getting out of hand. Soon parents won't be able to be in the same room as their child without a chaperone.

The problem with this ad is the way certain people can interpret it and how it makes it so much easier for innocent people to be reported which in the end, even they are innocent, will stain their whole lives and create a stigma about them.

Plus that whole image gives anyone an excuse to call as holding hands is one of the most common things that happen between children and adults, such as holding a childs hand when crossing the street.

It is scary what this says about society and I must say I feel bad for those this could cause great stress through no fault of their own.

However, one thing to point out is this could potentially save one child and therefore, the question becomes what is a price society is willing to pay in order to save one child? Does that price become ever too high because what if that prize causes considerable more harm to others.

The issue is not straitforward.

hehey some common sense in here :yay:

Damn, my dad helped me across the street as a kid. Hugged me, and quite frequently said I love you.
Why didn't anyone report him? :csad:

Idiots. There's a difference between being cautious, and being freakin paranoid. :whatever:

I understand the point they are trying to convey, but the failed terribly. I have two daughters and it would really piss me off if someone called the police on me for holding the hands. This ad should be scraped and reimagined with clearer wording and maybe no picture at all.
