I found that whole campaign about Gillian Andersen as bond fascinating. I don't know if I would like it as much as Idris or someone else as Bond but just hypothetically, who would you cast?

For me...

James Bond- Gillian Andersen
M - Charlotte Rampling
Doctor No - Lucy Liu
Honey Ryder - Freddie Stroma
Moneypenny - Richard ayoade

i have no idea. never imagined gender bender on this one

Are we basing our choice on acting ability or just simply being eye candy on the screen?

Emily Blunt
Yes.

Casino Royale

Jane Bond - Blunt (duh)
Vesper - Gaspard Ulliel
M - Michael Gambon
Le Chiffre - Nina Hoss
Felix - Carmen Ejogo

Sequel -

Bloefeld - Tilda Swinton

Is Jane Bond just a female version of Bond or a PC agenda campaign?

Personally, i would love Rebecca Ferguson.

Angela Basset would make a cool Felix Leiter

Just the same as a male James Bond

Urgh, get out.

Why? I'm asking a genuine question - it's no way an attack on you, but the general idea - has there truly been talk amongst the GA and fan base for a female Bond? I haven't heard the Gillian Anderson rumours and personally she would not be my choice as Ms Bond.

Or is it something a random blogger came up, just to make a statement or cause controversy? Which let's be honest, it has happened.

As for me, i haven't really heard anything on the rounds or any talk of them wanting a female Bond and i personally don't think Bond needs to be reimagined as female. I do feel however, the female roles in the Bond movies have improved immensely, whilst still giving a few characters that sexual liberation that a lot of the fans like.

I guess i don't like studios using movies for politics or agendas. I would like to see more oo agents in the series and maybe have the option to do spin offs. It would be pretty cool to have oo6 as female and every part Bonds equal until one goes in a different direction.

again, i repeat, this was never aimed as a negative towards you..

Making an action movie starring a woman is now a political agenda. :whatever:

I never said that... there are great action movies headlined by women that are not political agendas. it's like the ghostbusters reboot, some people feel like, agh i can't be bothered to explain.... have a good day

Yea don't even bother with people like that, they're delusional enough on their own. That or they just conveniently overlook significant details that have made these properties last long enough for people to even bring them up with any sort of reverence or relevance within modern times.

Like a franchise that's made movies for over 50 years with iconic characters is now the same as creating any old action movie with a woman in the lead haha.

It's funny how the closest thing to a real life woman James Bond right now is Taylor swift. She just goes around, hooking up with hot guys. Everyone tries to judge her but she cares less and less

'The name's swift, taylor swift'. I can imagine a Roger Moore eyebrow raise 'Yes dear, swift indeed'.

Back on topic, these images of talented, beautiful women with a gun... Bond calibre indeed.

Credit to Austin Powers for that joke.
