If you were given total control of just one movie franchise...

I´d pick the Hulk. I'd want James Cameron to direct the movie.

For the reboot I'd go with the basic premise that Banner is working for the UN as a nuclear weapon inspector in some made up stand in country for Iran. During the inspection he somehow wanders away from the group and uncovers a secret gamma bomb. The bomb goes off, Banner survives and is taken prisoner by the "Iranians" and has his first Hulk-out during an interrogation.

This setting has the advantage that you can have the Hulk really go crazy against regular military forces without having to worry about people getting upset that he's beating up US soldiers. In the first movie they went to rather ridiculous lengths to show that all the soldiers were ok and it really constrained the fighting imo.

My dream project would be to launch The Shadow as a Tv Series.I'm a big fan of the old radio show,so I would virtually adapt the best of the episodes to hour length.Maybe write some new episodes to give a season arc.

I'd keep it a period piece, set in the early 30's.Since the Shadow is basically invisible, the effects could probably be done on a decent TV budget.

I'd keep the Shadow's origin really simple.I'm not sure if it would cause fan outrage but,no multiple identities or underground league. No history of being a crime lord.Just have him doing his thing, with his past a mystery.I'd go for a real "pulpy" feeling.Nothing too "Real world".

Like the radio show,it would have Lamont Cranston (Wealthy young man about town) and Margo Lane (The only person to know whom the voice of the mysterious Shadow belongs.) looking into strange mysteries under the rumpled eye of Commissioner Weston.I'd push the "will they-won't they" vibe between Lamont & Margo for the first few seasons, making them partners in their investigation of the unknown.(Their common interests being what brings them together.)

I don't know who I'd cast, but no teen heartthrobs. They should be mature.About 30-ish.(Weston being mid 50's)The costume would be the same as the film version, but I wouldn't use any make-up.Just the red sash across his face.Maybe the dark other-worldly eyes.

The original radio theme is a MUST for the opening & closing credits.:awesome:

X-Men. Cause then I could see Rogue actually beat the **** out of people with some southern hospitality and make sure Cyclops is the lead. Plus Greenlight that Deadpool flick.

I'd probably just handover the whole franchise to Whedon and say have fun. At least as far as scripting.

Hmm... Maybe Jurassic Park too. I think the franchise does have a lot of potential but has to go past the island setting. I think a Rise of the Planet of the Apes-set-up which sees dinosaurs escape and stay in certain areas of the planet would be interesting.

Who wouldn't want to see a JP movie set like 10-15 years into the future where the world is ruled by dinosaurs again?

The Tom Clancy Jack Ryan franchise. I'd probably put it on TV, so you wouldn't have to condense the longer books into 2-3 hour movies. Probably do it on AMC, basically start from the beginning with Jack Ryan as an analyst, obviously some of it would be updated for modern times. I'd just want to tell his whole story though, from Analyst to eventually President. Also, at some point I'd spin off John Clark and Ding, so you could do the Rainbow Six stuff. Maybe start that series off with a "TV Movie" of Without Remorse.

i'd have Rian Johnson write and direct the next new Star Trek movie.

So William Shatner can go after Chris Pine and then end up killing himself? Sure. :o

I would take the Jerry Cornelius book serie by Michael Moorcock. I'd do four films for each book.

The First Film: THE FINAL PROGRAMME:

I'd open the film with Professor Hira's theory that the present Cycle of Time is running down. Then I'd introduce the supporting characters and their quirks: Shades the assassin, Marek the priest, and Miss Brunner. I would make the supernatural elements surrounding Miss Brunner ambiguous: she absorbs people and Jerry would make some allusions to her being Mephisto. I would use the wild parties Jerry throws to show how the world is going up, Time wearing down and out. In particular, I'd make it clear that Jerry is sustained by pills and the psychic energy of the partiers. Miss Brunner would be presented as a Thatcher-like figure, and Jerry as a character apathetic to Miss Brunner's schemes. I would conclude the film in accordance with the novel: Brunner's masterplan merges her and Jerry into a hermaphrodite, who is worshipped throughout the world.

The Second Film: A CURE FOR CANCER

SFX would be used to give Jerry a photonegative appearance. The backdrop would be a Europe where all of the countries are engaged in a Vietnam War-esque conflict with one another. I would use Jerry's method of forcing transmogrification on his clients, his tendency to sleep with whoever he likes and kill whoever annoys him to present a chaotic hero. The villain, the gluttonous journalist Bishop Beesley would be presented as a sleeze who wants to use Jerry's entropy box to create a stasis, to prevent Earth from breaking down completely. The villainy in Beesley scheme would be in the realization that stasis would ensure that the war in Europe would proceed on, indefinitley, rather than winding down or reaching a catastrophic conclusion. The ending - the Earth going up and a new cycle of Time beginning, would include Jerry's consciousness being transferred to his cousin, Catherine.

The Third Film: THE ENGLISH ASSASSIN

This one would have a steampunk feel to it, with dirigibles and a hint at certain characters -Prinz Lobkowitz and Una Persson- being Eternals. Jerry would appear in the beginning, washed up in a coffin near Cornwall. The Alternate Apocalypse interludes would be Jerry reminiscing on his role in the war as an assassin. His only appearance in the story's present timeline would be when he and some lackeys assassinate the diplomats meeting for peacetalks to end the war. I'd be following a set group of characters through the war, again hinting at Jerry's nature as a reincarnating champion in different timelines.

I'd take control of the Lovecraft mythos films. At the Mountains of Madness, The Call of Cthulhu, The Shadow Over Innsmouth to name a few.

The Terminator movie series. There is just so much that can be untapped in that series to bring it to a perfect ending which is the end to the war and the sending of Reese thru the time portal to the events of Terminator 1984. We all know where we want this series to go but they just want to milk the hell out of it. It needs to go full circle.

Hmm this is actually a very difficult question. I'm having trouble deciding between Masters of the Universe and Thundarr. Currently, I'm leaning towards Thundarr. As for who I'd have write, direct and star? I'll have to get back to you.

Mortal Kombat

Director: Zack Snyder

Over the top violence, true to it's source.

Highlander or Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles.

I've actually already started the ball rolling on a live action Thundarr movie. I've written a script for a feature length origin story, taking a few liberties with the source material but still staying mostly within canon. I've been in contact with several local film makers who are interested in helping me shoot a 3 minute trailer to show to potential investors and (eventually) Warner Brothers. I'm hoping that once enough money has been raised for the project, WB will either consent to make the film or give me permission to use their property.

My dream cast for the movie?

Chris Hemsworth as Thundarr The Barbarian

Ellen Wong as Princess Ariel

The Great Khali as Ookla The Mok

Al Leong as Sabian The Wizard

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as Zogarr The Barbarian

Directed & Produced by Joss Whedon

Easy. I'm already working to get 'Mighty Max' off the ground, the guys over at Universal (the ones mentoring me, not all - don't know all) absolutely love my take on it so that's probably going to be one I can get off the ground. It's going to be very 90s and very retro and talk up to it's audience rather than down to them. I've always loved the more serious, yet fun, children's movies and here there's this whole other notion of all of these exciting worlds you can take the audience to. My take on Max is quite different from the original property, and that's what the executives loved about it, is that rather than going with the Luke Skywalker type - it's practically putting Han Solo behind the wheel.

However - going into the wish fulfillment zone rather than the most likely gonna happen in the next couple of years zone - AQUAMAN.

I'm hoping what I'll be turning out will give DC enough faith so that I can at least get a chance to turn a first draft in at the very least. With one film that is just as "outlandish" and a slice of what I want to do with it - I might be able to if they like it, but still the chance of that project leading into faith for this one is still slim. I want the first film to be an origin story and an invasion story, very much like MAN OF STEEL which gives me further hope for this take, but with a story of an adoptee having to return to his birth world - Atlantis (I even actually want to write it upon returning to my country of birth where I was adopted from, because I think that emotional journey will give further weight and gravitas to the script). For the sequel, I've been playing around with the notion of how the world will react to him trying to be a child of two worlds. With that said though, my heart is really more in telling the most intriguing origin story I can. I found Aquaman almost in the same way Nolan found Batman, "what hero can I do a realistic take on?" My question was, "what hero could I tackle an adoptee having to deal with his birth world/country in?" And found Aquaman rich with potential. It's basically a very archetypal and Shakespearean history there to dive into. It's something that I'm looking to personally risk everything for to get it right because I think there's so much potential in a story like this on a very real and emotional level. It'd be a challenge and a risk - going back to a place where I come from knowing nothing of their customs, their language, or from whom I originate and trying to find my place among them and potentially my parents; but it's the same journey Aquaman would be taking in returning to Atlantis. And I just faithfully want to capture that 100%. Some might say "it's just a movie about a guy who talks to fish," - I think this story really has the potential to be something more. So, going with an outlandish answer of less than 50% chance of attaining (the others are possible (and looking to possibly start an original franchise/set of films (think 'Paranormal Activity' - but completely different and not a haunted house or found footage)) it'd be this.

Dude, that is so cool! You know, I would love for you to read my Thundarr movie script and give me your opinion on it. I'm currently in the process of trying to get it made (far more difficult for me, as I'm not already in the industry and have no Hollywood connections).

Hm, that's a hard question. I feel like running something like Star Wars would be a lot, and as much as I love Jurassic Park, the ideas are scarce for that.

I think I would take A Nightmare on Elm Street. First thing I'd do is boot the remake out and start over. As long as he could work, I'd bring Robert Englund back as Freddy. I'd want a trilogy, the first being a remake of the original, but changing things up, bringing new kills and maybe putting a more serious spin on kills from the latter films in the original series. I wouldn't try to clone Nancy (not that the remake Nancy had any personality like the original did.), but feature a lead actress with some different character traits, and different set of friends. .Possibly try the more outcast-type character, so no one really believes the things she says until other start dying and comparing stories and such.I think I'd have both of her parents be cops this time around, as they met through their profession and when the main character was little, were on the Kruger case, eventually joining the parents in burning Freddy. Freddy would get his child-killer origin back. None of the daycare stuff. The molestation can be implied, but I find it stupid that the parents burned Kruger for molesting their kids (I am a father, I would never want anything to happen to my kids, but the fact alone that all the parents banded together to burn him over it seems a little crazy to me, especially as no murder was involved.), and if Freddy isn't a killer already but comes back one.

The second film would be set three years later, and be a new version of Dream Warriors. New kids, new talents (for example the D & D kid would become a Skyrim player), and keep that serious tone with a little humor of the first. Undecided on if the lead girl would return, or if it'd feature a different returning character. Freddy would be lose a lot of his power near the end by them no longer fearing them, however using the possession powers originally exhibited in Elm street 2 and Freddy vs. Jason, he'd free himself from Elm Street, and use his remaining powers to begin spreading himself across all of Springwood.

The third would be a mix of new ideas and ones from the remaining films, but would likely be Freddy's Dead. Of course huge tone change from the original, but I'd be using the remaining Dream Warriors hunting for a way to stop Freddy, while meanwhile he's become extremely powerful while eliminating the rest of the Springwood children. No child of Freddy nonsense, nothing to do with only blood can kill blood. certainly no 3D weirdness. I do like the Dream Demon concept, but instead of coming to him like the original FD showed, I'd have Freddy spend about ten years in Hell, burning, and wandering the vast plains until finding a place where the Dream Demons were banished. They need blood, and fear to make them strong again, so they agree to give Freddy his revenge in exchange for feeding off the carnage he causes. Eventually it would come to finding some artifact that helped seal away the demons in ancient times, and once Freddy is pulled into reality, can remove the Dream Demons from him and he can be killed once and for all.

After that, if Robert Englund was still able, I'd do the prequel, The Elm Street Murders, leading to what makes Freddy into what he becomes. I'm not a fan of movies that kill kids because it is edgy, so I'd say any younger kids would bite it off screen, but we'd still likely have a few teenage characters who Freddy would chase down, leading to the his arrest and release due to a technicality, and then the parents ending him. If there's any one thing that both the Freddy's Nightmares TV series and Freddy vs. Jason got right, its the way Robert Englund played human Freddy. I probably wouldn't keep the ice cream truck or anything like that from the show, but that part in the beginning of Fvs.J with human Freddy is so creepy and well done.

Edit: Added details.

This is almost exactly how I would reboot the Nightmare On Elm Street franchise. Only difference is I would maintain the ice cream truck from the TV series in the prequel, as it was also in Marvel's short lived B&W ANOES comic series and is thus somewhat canon for the series. I'd also probably start with the prequel, then seguay into the reboot.

For the reboot, I agree with just about everything you wrote except changing the D&D player to a Skyrim player. Tabletop RPGs never go out of style (though I might change D&D to Pathfinder). A friend of mine is thinking of writing a piece of ANOES fan fiction where Freddy's killing spree was part of some sort of occult ritual, blood sacrifices to the dream demons or the Greek God of Nightmares or something. Might be a better story than Freddy wandering aimlessly through Hell and just randomly stumbling upon the dream demons.

Other than that . . . Hell Yeah!

Star Wars. Just so I could ensure the preservation of the O-OT. Restoration efforts, copies to the Library of Congress, releases on DVD/Blu-Ray, etc.

I'd let someone else handle the duties of the new stuff.

I keep changing my mind but I'm gonna go with Star Wars too. I think there's so much untapped potential and the universe is just so massive, there's nothing else like it. Hopefully this is what Disney will be doing

Bets of luck man. Chris may not want a similar role as he is already Thor, what his brother Liam?

Just because I know they'll screw it up, I'd love to be in charge of Robotech.

I've always had a nice summary for a Spider-Man trilogy. I think A Nightmare on Elm Street would be interesting too.

I'm picking Batman, and plotting out 3 distinct trilogies:

The Dark Knight Rises (2013)
Christian Bale (Bruce Wayne/Batman)
Michael Caine (Alfred Pennyworth)
Gary Oldman (Commissioner Jim Gordon)
Morgan Freeman (Lucius Fox)
Anne Hathaway (Jillian Maxwell)
Cillian Murphy (Jonathan Crane/The Scarecrow)
Eric Roberts (Sal Maroni)
Marion Cotilliard (Miranda Tate/Talia al Ghul)
Tom Hardy (Bane)

Notes:
* Tonally, Schumacher's trilogy would be a mixture of the 60s Batman television series/movie and Batman: The Animated Series
* The plot of this version of Batman Begins would be a combination of the plot of the real-life Batman Begins mixed with the real-life The Dark Knight, while the plot of this version of The Dark Knight would basically be the plot of the real-life Batman Begins minus Rachel, and the plot of this version of The Dark Knight Rises would replace Hathaway's Selina Kyle with the character of Jillian Maxwell, who would serve the same basic role in the story by being affiliated with Bane and ultimately being the person with whom Bruce is able to move on from Rachel
