If you're democrat or republican, have/would you ever vote for other party candidate?

Well, coming from the People's Republic of Massachusetts,we don't often have equal representation from all parties in local elections. So I've voted democrat/independent in some cases.Whoever is closest to my ideology gets my vote, regardless the party affiliation. I generally vote the party line in the big elections though.

Yes.

Blindly supporting someone just because they have a D or an R next to their name is one of the reasons why American politics are such a **** show.

It's too early to say right now, but it's looking like I'm probably going to vote against my party in 2016. In fact I'm seriously considering registering as something else altogether.

I don't consider myself a Democrat, but I am forced to side with them. I would say yes, but I don't see the modern Republican party ever having a candidate I could support, as long as the Democrat isn't... I don't know, Dianne Feinstein or Nancy Pelosi.

Every time a moderate Republican emerges, like Jon Huntsman, he's dead in the water come primaries.

I'm a Democrat, but I'd rather vote for a fiscally realistic, socially liberal Republican like Bloomberg was in New York City for deep blue cities. He was a helluva lot better than this walking disaster DiBlasio. I also wanted Charlie Baker to beat Coakley for Mayor in Boston. I trust Republicans for local or state office in very blue states, because here the democratic machines are prone to excess and corruption and periodically need a kick in the ass to get them back down to earth. I probably wouldn't vote for a Republican for national office though.

As for 3rd parties, I voted for Nader in 2000 just after I turned 18. Luckily I wasn't in a swing state. First and last time I'll ever vote third party. It works in a parliamentary system, but here in the US you might as well be throwing your vote away.

I don't know if it is the Netflix documentary or what (lol) but Romney really grew on me into his 2nd run. He made quite a few mistakes on the trail and the flip flopper label stuck with him. The religious Mormon aspect of his life also didn't win him points. I found it interesting how early on he noted himself as a flawed candidate in that respect.

His commentary on Russia as well as some economic arguments were pretty good however. I supported Obama on both runs, but the second run I definitely kept Romney in mind as an interesting candidate.

I wonder if Jeb really is such a front runner btw? Romney>Jeb :o I'm inclined to say Hillary>Jeb but not completely made up mind yet.

I'm a Republican who voted for Cuomo. He's practically a Republican anyways.

Yes. If they make it so that public education has teachers teaching our students how to actually learn and prepare for college rather than sing, dance, and memorize standardized tests, they've got my vote regardless of party.

I vote for whoever best represents my own views.

I'm a Republican, but given a good enough Democratic candidate or a bad enough Republican one, I might vote Democratic.

Same here but I usually vote Libertarian in primaries and Republican in
general elections.

I personally lean toward conservative libertarian. I wish the Libertarian party was stronger. If it was I would change from Republican to Libertarian.

I'm a default democrat. I'd only vote republican if they made drastic changes to their stances on social issues.

I'm a very liberal Democrat but I always keep my options open, more often than not though there are usually way too many things from the R that I don't agree with so I can't consider voting for them. If there ever comes a young upstart that gives up on these stupid points the R's seem to want to cling to that they have already lost the war on I would be open to voting for him/her. I did vote for the Libertarian candidate for my district last election. But as others have said blindly supporting anyone because of the D or R next to their name is stupid

I'm a conservative and a registered Republican, but I'm also rather pragmatic over being idealistic. Some big ones were voting for Jerry Brown as Governor and am happy with him as Governor of California. Also voted for Obama in 2008...that one on the other hand...

I voted Green in 2000 and will likely vote third party again in 2016.

I have before, would do it again if the candidate represented my beliefs. Those who toe the line and vote based on the R or D next to the candidate's name are what's wrong with America.

If I'd been old enough in '68 I'd have Supported Nixon because of Humphrey's hijacking of the Dem nomination.

I am a democratic traditionally but honestly I am probably more inbetween. There are some things I agree with republicans on and some things I agree with democratics on. I don't know who I will vote for in 2016 but I am leaning towards Hilary right now.

i'm a republican. i'd definitely vote for a democrat. they're more marijuana friendly.

I don't care what letter the person has after their name.

If they are passionate, heartfelt, trustworthy, strong leader, and hold to the basic tenants that I look for in a candidate. Strong state's rights, smaller govt., fair tax system, strong auditor of the bureaucracy with a desire to trim where needed, pro-choice, and pro equality (in a way that they understand that "fair is not always equal and equal is not always fair) but understand that everyone deserves to be treated with respect and should be able to live their life as they want, live with the freedoms that we all enjoy, and pursue their dreams, goals no matter who they are.

If they can convince me that they hold true to those things above? They will get my vote.
