Im a second year senior.

I dont know why but I felt the sudden urge to make this a public announcement to the people of the Hype. I know not all of you know me and i know some of you barely know me but i wanted to know what you thought of someone who has to take a second senior year of HIGHSCHOOL not College.

Now ill give you the low down on what exactly put me in this position. There was alot of personal stuff that happened with my parents and I my freshman year, I only passed 2 classes which equals up to about 1 credit for my school then in my sophmore year i proceeded to fail 2 classes and that summer I began to smoke weed.
My junior year i failed 2 more classes and my senior year well i failed another 2 classes and got invoolved with theater more and seeing as acting was my dream i am now pursuing that intomy second senior year and hoping to in community college after this year. It is important to note that the summer after my junior year i stoped smoking weed.

I have managed to get all the required credit through various summer schools and opted out of the GED test, i now reqiure 5 Elective credits to get out which i will attain with ease. An elective class is a class that is not one of the 4 core subject Math,Science,History or English.

Now this may seem like a petty attempt at getting attention but really i want to know what the members of the hype think of staying for another year of highschool and if there are any others on this site like me so i may not feel so alone in my failure.

So please dont ignore this thread. lol Please! I thought it might be a neat topic.

man that sucks, but keep a stiff upper lip.

We used to make fun of Superseniors.
I mean really, you do not have to work hard to graduate high school.

**** up in college, not high school.

exactly. although college can be a bit tough when you lose financial aid and get set on academic probation. but you can get through those.

If all you have left is electives and all the core classes are out of the way, why not take the GED? Sounds like you are making excuses to NOT go into the world. High School is a piece of cake with only electives, and you are a big fish in a small pond. Buck up, take the test, and be a man about it. Believe me, I speak from experience. I ****ed about in college because I was scared to move on. I was at University for 7 years and I regret wasting my time, now that I am older and (somewhat) wiser

"Some people go to college for 7 years."

"Yeah, they're called doctors!"

exactly, I was scared and I admit it. It sucks to be a grown up

Trust me I considered the GED for my 1st senior year, the whole year and talked to all the counselors and principles but in the end decided it was just not good enough and I wanted the diploma. I also considered how I wanted my mom to see me all cap and gowned up. So for personal reasons I went back and I'm 18 gonna be 19 in June so if I had graduated last year I would have been 17 gonna be 18. I was really just curious if we had other Super Seniors, yes i have been called that, on the site.

Jag, I hear your harsh words and I do take them seriously this year I have really bucked up and really the fact that you are down to earth it what makes me respect you.

LOL, do not get a GED.
That's the "moron diploma"

Stay the extra year and at least avoid the GED stigma

Kick some ass this year, Hush.

sorry dude. It probably wouldn't have happened for you if not for external $hit out of your control. You should really start getting some therapy while you're still a student and you can get it for free under insurance. It's not an easy thing to do but it will pay off in the long run when you start learning how to regulate in ways you didn't know you were capable of it.

Say F you to the stigmas and realize that about 100 times more of the population should be in therapy. Just little stuff could use it, much less the stuff that causes you to repeat a grade.

Oh, and try HARD to quit weed. I enjoy it myself but you've got a whole life to do it and for someone like you I can tell it's the kind of thing that you do get an addiction with to self-medicate/regulate. If you can't stop NOW, go to a meeting, seriously.

Thanks Jag.

BT18, I dont smoke anymore I stopped way back i recognized it was throwing me deeper into depression and i actually turned my fondness for it to comics and it totally pulled me out of smoking. So yeah glad I clarified that.

It's better to have a regular HS diploma than a GED diploma. But, thats my opinion.

This must of been one of the children Whitney Houston believed were our future. :csad:
