I'm going to be that guy - TMNT Flaws/Critiques/Spoilers

The villains had a generic plot.
Shredder didn't get enough development

At least the plot made sense in ASM. Lizard was crazy and wanted to turn the whole population of the city into reptiles just like him. In TMNT, they want to poison a city, so the rich guy gets even richer. What the frick?

Sachs and Shredders plan. Let's release the chemical on top of the Sachs building and then Sachs will sell the antidote. Seems legit and by legit I mean daf. DAF means dumb as you know what.

Also Splinter looked like an ugly ass giant chihuahua.

Too many more negatives to list. I thought the one thing that made no sense was the lack of showing Leo's leadership skills. Plus Leo should be a better fighter but he was constantly getting his ass handed to him. I could go on, I just got out of the show and this movie is a disgrace to cinema.

One more thing:
Megan Fox
Bad actress, great asstress.

Haven't seen the film yet, but I'm just going to put this out there and see who, if anyone, agrees with me:
Changing things so that [blackout]Sacks wasn't Shredder[/blackout] shouldn't have happened, as it creates more storyline problems than it potentially solved vis a vis 'fan reaction'

Agreed. Shredder feels REALLY shoehorned into this movie, he's just a guy in a mech suit, nothing more. Sachs has more of a connection to the Turtles than the Shredder did. And if they had gone with the "reincarnation angle" from the IDW comics, then I could have actually accepted Fichtner as the Shredder. It would also have been more creative than what we got.

I think it's pretty obvious that Shredder is not just a normal guy in a mech suit.

He's a guy who can fight really well in a mech suit. And the head of the Foot Clan.

Not to mention Sacks's plan wasn't Sacks's plan, it was Shredder's. Shredder was the mastermind behind everything and Sacks was just a tool.

Considering how unbelievably stupid the plan was, and that the Foot Clan are apparently just guys with guns (seriously WTH was up with that Bay/Liebsman), that's not much of an accomplishment. And the simple fact is that he's not in the movie enough (he's barely in it at all) nor do they develop his character enough. So he FEELS like a generic guy in a mech suit. They feel the need to over explain everything in this movie except for the villain's backstory apparently. Oh and removing any connection to Splinter REALLY didn't help matters either.

Loki is right. Shredder seemed so out of place in this movie. And how does Splinter know EVERYTHING about Shredder and Sacks? He saw them get into an argument when he was a rat in a cage and managed to catch all of it?

I took up for this movie after I saw the trailer. Boy was I wrong. The over the top "splinter/ turtles punishment scene" was ridiculous. Too much sliding used throughout the movie. Mike's sexually inappropriate joke. Donatello being super nerdy and unrelatable. The only cool part was Splinter fighting foot soldiers/Shredder. So many bad things...

imagine that

Yea that was one of my gripes. Splinter not being Hamato Yoshi or his rat pet kinda took the sting out of the Shredder rivalry.

And the learning ninjitsu from a book was a bit iffy but I'll give that a pass. The mutation enhanced his thinking capacity and ability to interpret information? I guess *shrugs* One of many things I had to suspend my disbelief for.

I had low expectations so I wasn't actully disapointed at all. Dumb summer fun.

Other than the sci-fi generic "antidote" thing, what exactly was so stupid about a plan to unleash chemical terrorism on a massive scale?

Stupid rich guy wants to poison the city to get even richer. Shredder wants to control the city, and that apparently works best by turning it into a quarantine zone, and killing off most of the population as a display of power.

The fact that they used the top of the Sacks building. You know the place that would eventual release the antidote for profit. Like I said earlier, seems legit.

Also, I did enjoy that part where the turtles fly down and fall through the sewer just like the cartoon. I started thinking, how do eight foot tall, fairly wide mutants fit into a manhole? This movie was just terrible, RT's got it right this time. This franchise just needs to be rebooted in five years. The only thing it they sort of got right were the personalities of the turtles, but even then any eight year old knows the personalities of the turtles.

Where exactly is the flaw here?

The lack of connection between Splinter & Shredder.I really wish they would've given us a mutated Hamato Yoshi. It would've opened up the possibility of Kari being his daughter like the Nick show.

The Foot looking like a bunch of Cobra rejects.Shouldn't they be ninjas?

I didn't really mind 'The Foot' to be honest, they seemed to made out as a threat to citizens and cops which I assume is what they were going for. Making the Turtles out to be all the more heroic.

They were pretty crap in the 1990 movie too, well, I thought they were anyway.

I started learning MMA from a book before I joined a class.

It's not really all that strange and he had four others to work with, where as I could only learn basic positions on my own.

First things first, I didn't hate it as much as I thought I would and I didn't think it was as bad as people said, buuuuuuuuuuut....that doesn't mean there was a ton of stupid **** in it.

- Megan Fox is what happens when you try to turn a porn star into an A-list actress. She just wasn't good. The movie would have been so much better if we got a better actress for April (like Anna Kendrick or Alison Brie).

- Splinter looked fake as hell.

- Shredder didn't look that much better, I would have liked to see more of him out of the suit actually, or at the very least unmasked.

- So many blatant plot ripoffs from The Amazing Spider-Man, of all movies. Not only the stuff with April's father, but the villain spreading a disease through New York City by releasing it at the top of a building.

- April being involved in the Turtles' origin.

- Is Leo supposed to be the leader in this? Because I didn't get that vibe at all. Also, not enough clashing between Leo and Raphael.

I do find it pointless to nitpick a movie about giant talking ninja turtles to death because it's a ridiculous concept to begin with. I did enjoy the Turtles themselves, for the most part. It's not as good as the 1990 film, but I did find it to be better than 2 and 3 (which I think are awful) and TMNT (which I thought was boring aside from the Leo/Raph fight).

There was too much badness for me to absorb in one viewing but here are some of my issues with this crapsterpiece:
1. Human lips.
2. CGI. It's just another animated film. Practical effects look better, result in better performances, and are actually cheaper than CGI. Computers should only be used to insert practical effects.
3. The turtles are quite huge. How exactly does that fit into a manhole?
4. Supa' Shredder. And in CGI. Can't he go by his real name, be a Japanese gangster, and be a collector of real Samurai armor?
5. Megan Fox. Why not someone more real like Zooey Deschanel?
6. Random fly-by shots of NYC.
7. Splinter wasn't a ninja transformed by the mutagen but a rat that learned ninjitsu... again.
8. Awful voice acting.
9. The Foot were not ninjas.
10. No mutant villains-- no Stockman or Rocksteady and Bebop.
11. Lame cameraman sidekick trope.
12. Why and what exactly were the Foot doing in NYC?
13. That final plot, dealing with the chemical weapon-- ridonculous, just ridonculous.
14. It was set in modern times instead of the 70s or 80s. Here's a touchphone in your face!
15. The villain wants the hero's blood, again. We did this in Harry Potter and it actually made sense because Harry was a horcrux. Then we did it in Man of Steel and it was kind of the most nonsense part of the movie, and so naturally we had to endure it again in Amazing Spider Man 2. And now Paramount has given us this plot for the fourth time in ten years. How do these script writers get paid to just copy other films?
16. Little sense of unique personalities between the turtles (something you lose when you do everybody in CGI).
17. Didn't we just do a robot samurai in Wolverine 2? And didn't it suck just as bad?
18. The villains wanted the mutagen as an antidote instead of wanting it for bioengineering and creating beast-soldiers.

Seriously dude? I know that you take offense to anyone who says anything bad about the movie, and will defend it to the hilt, but this is pushing it.

-A super-rich guy is going to risk his entire fortune just to make more money.
-It's kind of pointless to control a city if most everyone in it is dead and the place is a fallout center.
-They're going to pump the nerve agent out of the Sach's corporate HQ in downtown NYC. That's pretty much the dumbest way that they could possibly go about this plot, they honestly think that no one in NYC, the media capital of the world, is going to notice that or get suspicious, really?
-They magically have the antidote to this catastrophe sweeping through NYC all of the sudden. Yeah no one will question or be suspicious of that.
-It's a blatant rip-off of the finale to TASM.
