So there's a a need of next-gen Batman game topic, and as most of us know we'll be getting that game sometime in the near future. So are attention should be focused elsewhere. And I believe that our Country and our Economy truly needs to see a decent next-gen Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game.

In the recent past we had some games based off the 2003 Turtles cartoon, there were three of these and for the most part they were fun little beat em up games, somewhat reminiscent of the old Konami games for Nes and Snes that were just awesome in their day. They weren't great but my brother and I had fun playing the co-op mode together just like when we were kids. I remeber the second one "Battle Nexus" to be the best.

Then when the CGI TMNT movie came into theaters. What did we get? A crappy little ONE-PLAYER game that had lame graphics and annoying gameplay. I didn't know much about the game at the time, so I just bought it thinking it would be like the cartoon games. And I was pissed when I saw that it was one-player when I brought it over to my brother's house! It wasn't even a good one player game it has serious flaws and didn't do things it promised to do in magazine reviews.

So it is my opinion that the world needs a truly awesome Ninja Turtles game in order to redeem there once great video game reputation. Presently I believe that we have three opportunities for a TMNT game.

1. Another decent co-op cartoon game could be made and based off the new TMNT: Back To The Sweres season.

2. The SHH news page has posted a few stories on the possibility of a new live-action or CGI live-action hybrid (like Beowulf) Turtles movie. This would be just a typical movie tie-in game but hopefully it could still be made well.

3. In light of the new season and the possibility of new movie. In order to promote overall TMNT awareness a game could be made and based off nothing but the Turtles themselves, maybe the comics or something. Not tied in with anything the developers would be free to work without time or story restrictions.

So what do you fellow board members think? I also think that no matter what kind of game might be made it is a MUST that the game be co-op for at least two people. The idea of playing all 4 Turtles alone just seems wrong. Especially since... who doesn't love the Turtles? (Excluding Shredder)

My idea is pretty simple.

Take the X-Men Legends / Ultimate Alliance formula and apply it to Ninja Turtles.

^ I was actually thinking something more like those Lord of The Rings movie games that EA put out around the time of each movie. Those were some pretty solid co-op action-adventure games with great combat controls. And that's what I'd like to see most in a TMNT game, good weapons combat and co-op play.

hmmm how is the new TMNT toon by the way? i havent heard anything about it. didnt even know there was one.

Uhh it's okay I guess, I've only seen the first two episodes. You could check em out on youtube and I think there's a topic in the TV thread. Didn't seem as good as the 2003 seasons but much better than the Fast Foward seasons. Although they still have that annoying Robot with them.

They should do it Mega Man 9 style. A classic, straight to XBLA/PS Store/Wii Ware title, done like Turtles In Time. That would be awesome.

I really liked the three PS2 Ninja Turtle games. They were very similar but they were mindless multi-player fun. :)

Yeah me two! They were pretty simple games but they were a lot of fun and were decently long too. I also liked how they spliced in clips from the cartoon series and made their own just in the game. I at least hope they make another one of those based off the current season.

And I like your idea too The Joker, maybe if Mega Man 9 does well enough they'll do the same with more game franchises. Turtles in Time was one of the best games ever IMO. I hope they put it up for download on the Nintendo Wii network, they do have the very first Turtles game for Nes in there.

TMNT definitely need a kickass game, but I hope at some point we get a gritty, true to the original comic type movie. And the Triceratons are a must.

What about the kid?
Those were two of the reasons why I stopped watching. It became too campy.

I saw a preview earlier...they look weird with eyes. they look a little too friendly now. Was there an explanation for the change in animation style? I mean this show IS cannon to the old series right? everything is the same except for the appearance....

I like the X-Men Legends idea and the retro MM9 inspired. I think Ubisoft still has the license right now so I don't know if they have it in them to try a retro thing like that. If they do I hope they try to at least match the arcade quality of the old TMNT games(especially Turtles in Time). However, good sprite artists are harder and harder to find. I would like to see a 2D beat 'em up with KOF XII resolution.

I think the last TMNT game was a failure, because it won't let you play all 4 turtles at the same time. If they are going to make another one then they must have 4-player action or don't bother making it.

Last TMNT games I played would have been the Genesis and classic arcade ones. I haven't played anything past that. However I think the series works best in a side scrolling, action, 4 player setting. I'd like to see an updated longer version of the TMNT arcade game with online capabilities. Of course I'd also love an update of the X-Men 4-6 player arcade, or Streets of Rage too.

The first Ninja Turtles game for PS2 and Xbox was almost good, but it didn't have a 4 player mode, and you had to hear that irritating "Slice and Dice!" or whatever every FRIGGIN TIME you hit the power attack button! Seriously, who's ******ed idea was that? I would have gone out of my mind if I had to play through the entire game hearing that every 2 seconds. :cmad:

A good Ninja Turtles game is something that in theory should not be hard to do. A 4-player hack n' slash action RPG would be the ideal route to go. You'd get the fun of a classic TMNT beat 'em up combined with the depth, customization, and lasting appeal of an RPG. It could basically be like Marvel Ultimate Alliance but with a smaller character list (although if they're smart they'd include characters like Casey Jones and Splinter as extras).

HAHA! I remeber that it was so annoying! I liked the game but I couldn't play as Leonardo cause he was the one who said it. Though the others did say stupid annoying stuff, Leo's was the worst. I think they cut that out of the other games though.

One great thing about that game though, if you played it on GameCube and had your calendar set up right. If you played the game on Christmas Day the Turtles wore little Santa hats as you played. It was an adorable little touch!

Or what's worse Mikey's air attack... which could be used multiple times... EAT FEET! EAT FEET! EAT FEET!
