So there's a a need of next-gen Batman game topic, and as most of us know we'll be getting that game sometime in the near future. So are attention should be focused elsewhere. And I believe that our Country and our Economy truly needs to see a decent next-gen Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game.
In the recent past we had some games based off the 2003 Turtles cartoon, there were three of these and for the most part they were fun little beat em up games, somewhat reminiscent of the old Konami games for Nes and Snes that were just awesome in their day. They weren't great but my brother and I had fun playing the co-op mode together just like when we were kids. I remeber the second one "Battle Nexus" to be the best.
Then when the CGI TMNT movie came into theaters. What did we get? A crappy little ONE-PLAYER game that had lame graphics and annoying gameplay. I didn't know much about the game at the time, so I just bought it thinking it would be like the cartoon games. And I was pissed when I saw that it was one-player when I brought it over to my brother's house! It wasn't even a good one player game it has serious flaws and didn't do things it promised to do in magazine reviews.
So it is my opinion that the world needs a truly awesome Ninja Turtles game in order to redeem there once great video game reputation. Presently I believe that we have three opportunities for a TMNT game.
1. Another decent co-op cartoon game could be made and based off the new TMNT: Back To The Sweres season.
2. The SHH news page has posted a few stories on the possibility of a new live-action or CGI live-action hybrid (like Beowulf) Turtles movie. This would be just a typical movie tie-in game but hopefully it could still be made well.
3. In light of the new season and the possibility of new movie. In order to promote overall TMNT awareness a game could be made and based off nothing but the Turtles themselves, maybe the comics or something. Not tied in with anything the developers would be free to work without time or story restrictions.
So what do you fellow board members think? I also think that no matter what kind of game might be made it is a MUST that the game be co-op for at least two people. The idea of playing all 4 Turtles alone just seems wrong. Especially since... who doesn't love the Turtles? (Excluding Shredder)
