i could see where people would love seeing an IMAX movie bc the screen is so big, it seems like it would be an absolutely crazy experience...however, ive seen my share of IMAX movies, notably Star Wars: ROTS, and Matrix Revolutions, not to mention the nature ones we had to watch years ago in school... and to be honest, the only ones enjoyable were the nature ones. i found myself being....i guess, overwhelmed...ROTS all the flying and such in the beginning, matrix 3, well everything about that movie...

i personally like the back row of a normal sized theatre screen... IMAX hurts my neck looking up at it the whole time, and you have to see the movie again just to see everything that happened. to me its just annoying to have to look 30 degrees to your left to see something or someone then having to look to the right in time to see what happens...

thoughts? maybe they should move seating away from the screen a little more..

I try to sit a few rows back from middle and I don't usually have problems looking at the screen. Sometimes it does suck though when you don't get good seats and you have to turn your head to see everything that's going on.

I don´t think seating is the same in every theater. Anytime I´m seeing anything at the IMAX I try to be there an hour before the movie starts so I can get a good place in line and get good seats up top.

probably not, the nearest IMAX to me is Mall of Georgia. and the seating is ridiculously close. the seating more so gets higher, rather then farther back....if youve ever sat in the upperdeck of a baseball game, its kinda like that seatin style, wheres its more of an incline then depth.

It depends on the theatre. I saw some films at the IMAX in Boston and was blown away. The screen was like a dome over your head. Your were surrounded by picture. But I also went to one in Albuquerque and was pissed because really all it was was a regular theatre screen, just a lot bigger. It was more like an old theatre from the Golden Age than an IMAX screen.

in imax theres no bad seats...... its designed so that its a great experience in all seats

Or read my post. I've only been to tow of them and noticed a huge difference.

yeah, if your ever in Georgia, don't go to mall of georgia imax unless you wanna get a migraine and waste 16 dollars.

Not if you sit in the first few rows.

thats not true....

before the movie started i went to the first row to see how it is and its amazing there too...

the thing is (in my theater at least) they leave a huge space between the screen and first row... and the theater rows go up high rather than far back...
and the screen is sorta shaped in a way so that the side people dont get a distorted view

Depends on the theater and the film reel- is it normal film in IMAX theater? Or is it a specialized IMAX film in the IMAX theater? All good. But IMAX in IMAX is amazing

ive went to imax three times and it was always a great experience , except spiderman 3 was somewhat dissapointing when its started raining emo , but i love it .

Polar Express was the best 3D experience I've ever had. When the train comes to a stop and looks like it's going to hit you. Uh, :yay:  Simply fantastic.

Any others that I've seen have mostly been at museums, only two have been regular screen type Imax, not so great, waste of a drive as well. But I'm a sucker. :O

regular movies in my area are 10$....Imax 15$
