Playstation Insomniac's Spider-Man 2

This FF easter egg is very much known. (I just didn't know it was the previous Fisk tower).

What I didn't know is that the creative director himself replied to this basically saying "hmmm interesting". That could be nothing, of course. But that made me wonder if there's more. And if so, what is... I don't even know if they're allowed to since Wong and Strange didnt make an appearance on this game either. And I struggle to see them fitting there. But who knows...

Also I think FF would be a better fit for an Insomniac AAA type of game than the X-Men, since it has only 4 playable characters while the biggest reference for X-Men games is Legends. And I don’t think, right now, FF has enough commercial appeal for that.

Anyway, I hope to see a FF and a DD game eventually.

Interesting if we get Wolverine in 2026 and then a Venom game in 2027 and then potentially a Spider-Man game in 2028 Insomniac will be the MVP of this Gen

I highly doubt Spider-Man 3 would come out just 1 year after Venom. Venom was rumored to come out before Wolverine iirc. So who knows how these delays affected Spider-Man 3, if that's even in development in 2025, which is only 3 years away from 2028.

Depends probably on how much asset reuse and such Spider-Man may have. Or how much cancelled DLC becomes foundation for the 3rd game

IMHO, I don’t think they need to make to make the map larger. I think it's already big enough. So less work there?

I think it's good for the Venom game to have Carnage (maybe Knull) and end the symbiote thing instead of dragging into the third game.

Ehhh. Venom sounded fun 2 years ago. I think my first though now is how long is this gonna take? Will be keeping an eye out to see if there's any outside writers too. The first game did. The second game didn't and was substantially worse imo.

I think at this rate Spider-Man 3 will be a PS6 game. It may get a PS5 port but that would likely be downgraded and not the intended platform of choice that Insomniac is leading its development for

I don't remember Spider-Man 2 getting a ps4 port. If Venom is the first ps6 Insomniac game, Venom is probably the only one that would get a ps5 port, especially if Spider-Man 3 comes out 2 years or more after Venom.

I said nothing about SM2 getting a PS4 port and I don’t think that matters. Assuming the PS6 comes out in 2027 at the earliest, most if not all first party games will be cross gen for at least that first year. I don’t see Sony following up the finale to this trilogy and crippling its potential sales by putting it out there to the smallest install base of their products. Spider-Man 2 came a good 3 years into the current life cycle so it won’t be the same landscape

I mentioned SM2 as a comparison. But either way, I'm fine with a ps5 port, I played Miles Morales on PS4 and the loading is very fast and I didn't hear any jet sounds unlike Assassins Creed Valhalla.

A lot of people complain about the MJ missions, some for valid reasons, others not...

I know this is not gonna happen but I'd kill to play as Black Cat. That SM2 mission was so much fun. I'd love to see her as playable instead of MJ.

Black Cat would definitely have been a better secondary than MJ in the Spider-Man games.
