I dunno if this has already been pointed out or is completely coincidental but look at this part of the 1943 Batman serial at 15 seconds to about 22. The music is VERY similar to elfman's Batman theme, very similar. Just thought I would point this out to the only people that would care :yay:

I always thought there was a part of the Pink Floyd song "The Trial" that sounded similar to the Elfman theme. Listen from 1:35 to 1:42:

I dunno, I'm not really hearing it. Although, I do have to say, I like your location next to your tag. I like NMH also. :cwink:

I'm surprised you can't hear it, when the camera is at Bats and RObin's back and the man is going in the door in the tunnel. it's the Baaa ba ba BAAAAAAAAA baaaa.:yay:

And I'm glad someone got that reference :woot: NMH is a great band.

It's actually even more similar to the reworking of Elfman's theme that was used for BTAS

Wait for it. Rolfe specifically points it out:

-The way Wolfman stealthily attacks that inspector reminds of Batman grabbing Jack Napier in Batman 89 and also Batman's first night in Batman Begins, where he's snatching all the the drug dealers at the docks

-The way Dracula flaps his cape is just like how Batman does behind two thugs in the Batman 89 opening

-The forest with dead trees in Wolfman looks like the Wayne Manor area in Tim Burton's Batman films

-The scene where Larry Talbot wake up in his bed is just like when Vicki Vale wakes up Batman 89 after the night she was rescued by Batman

-Dracula appearing out of smoke is just like Batman disappearing via smoke pellets in Batman 89

-Foggy Victorian era England is like Gotham in Batman 89

-The lab where Wolfman and Frankenstein are fighting in is like the Bat-Cave

-Not exactly sure about this but I think Wolfman jumping in the alley might be similar to Catwoman in Batman Returns

-I think the building falling apart and electrocution mirrors the climax of Batman Returns

-The use of shadows in all of them is in Tim Burton's Batman films

Danny Elfman wasn't specifically inspired by anyone. He just wanted to do an old-fashioned bombastic score. So, if you're hearing Elfman's Batman theme in random old movies from the `30s, `40s, and `50s it's because that was just the generic sound of the time. Kinda how Hans Zimmer music is today.

All artists say that, but it's possible to find quite direct influences for just about everything. Everything from Shakespeare to Star Wars. The Joker is, like it or not, directly taken from The Man who Laughs. The Danny Elfman Batman theme is right there in that 40's serial episode. The chances of Elfman BY ACCIDENT coming up with almost exactly the same piece of music for the same character is a million to one.

Well, it's no secret that one of Elfman's idols and main influences is B Herrmann. And of course Burton loves the classic horror movies.

Go to Zorbamovies account on youtube, he has lots of incredible comparisons of the like.

That's exactly my thought. Like you can even forget the other films. This is a BATMAN film and it has the same music. That would have to be a pretty freakin' huge coincidence
