Interesting "Civil War: Fallen Son" info...

My take is -

Spiderman - No. It would be interesting as he's boarderlined the entire event, switched and been on both sides and close to everyone and even unmasked, but killing such a popular character would be stupid IMO. Plus there's already pics of him in the black suit, and talk of a story where he goes around fighting clones of himself.

Steve Rogers - Possibly. Wolverine has fought with Cap for a long time and could go into denial. Spiderman has most likely looked up to Cap, and has teamed with him and prob got to know him pretty well while in NA. Cap's a cornerstone of the MU and a lot of ppl look up to him. There are of course the scenes of them cutting a deal with U.S. Agent, he could always become the new Capt. even tho Steve Rogers IS Cap IMO. I don't know tho, I hope they don't, but it's possible. Also there's the fact that Luke Cage is leading the new NA. Cap could be Ronin, but so could Hercules, DD, and a number of others. Not to count I don't know if I can see Cap running off and leaving the NA high and dry fighting Mighty Avengers after he spear headed the resistance throughout CW all this time.

Tony Stark - Possibly. We haven't seen post CW pics of Stark, only of IM, and one of Stark in a flashback. I doubt it however as an IM movie is coming out soon, and Stark's been getting a hell of a push lately just to be killed off. Spiderman could indeed go into a depression however as he's been close to Stark since before and during CW. I can't see Wolverine going into denial tho.

Fury - Probably. Wolverine has been a go to guy for Fury for awhile and denial would be a definite posssbility. I don't know if I can Spiderman going into a depression, unless Fury is really looked up to in the MU (more than we thought). CW Confession could be that the pro's knew Fury was dead all along. My guess (if it is him) however is that the DD with the Silver dollar is Nic Fury. He frees some heroes from the negative zone while the two sides fight, he comes out and is killed somehow during the fight. They unmask him thinking DD is mortally wounded and it's Fury instead.

MJ - I doubt it, I can't see Wolverine going into denial. Spiderman part fits tho.

"Cap" (whomever he is) is talked after the civil war. Check out the beginning of the thread.

Cap lives, Rogers might not (temporarily).

Yes Captain America could still live somewhat, but with Steve "dead", the government could always make somebody the New Captain America, somebody who is more of a yes man. So Cap "dies", Steve lives, and the Government possibly makes a new Captain America.

That's why... Logan only reacts to the death of 2 chars other than members of the X-Men: Rogers or Fury. Marvel's one of the most popular characters is not Fury. It's Rogers.

And I think the only dude that knows Steve Rogers whereabout is Tony Stark.

I also want Tony to "die" taking the bullet for Steve, redeeming his mistakes. But it seems the big honcho of Marvel feel that the death of Rogers would make another emotionally charged tear jerker material, while the oft-forgotten, everyman-**** Tony Stark would not. Marvel, why bother continuing the Iron Man series and make a big budget movie about him if you take a dump on the character over and over again?

Yes Tony will know the whereabouts of Steve, cause he will be in on the fake death. I think Tony will be the one to "kill" Cap, because it will have to be done, it will be part of Tony and Steve's plan. Tony will fedeem himself by secretly helping the New Avengers and fighting the registration from within, he is now the leader of Shield, and is part of the Mighty Avengers.

Wolverine - Denial - He knows there is something fishy going on
Avengers - Anger - Both teams will be angry that the "War" had to end with the death of Marvel's greatest hero
Captain America - Bargaining - Realizing that he can still fight the good fight without the Cap uniform, a lot less violence and bloodshed
Spider-Man - Depression - That the one man that would've helped Peter no matter what is now gone.
Unknown - Acceptance - Focus on america and them accepting the fact that, the one time symbol of America is now dead, whether they agreed with him or not.

It looks as if Fallen Son will be everyother week, Wolverine and the Avengers parts are both coming out in April.

I think for Spiderman's part: Depression, i don't think they mean him being depressed over whoever died, i think it means Spidey being depressed overall because of what the war has done to everybody especially himself. I mean, either aunt may or mary jane's gonna bite the bullet soon, and he'll be too busy mourning over them to be depressed over somebody else even if it is Cap america. I think its gonna deal with Pete's overall depression over everything that's happened in the war, not some hero's death.

I hope that the Earth X story remains part of continuity because Steve's death in the one off "Cap" is the way he should go

I don't think Earth X was ever in continuity except as an alternate future.

Ya pretty confident it wasn't 616 continuity.

BTW was reading a preview for CW Fallen Sons elsewhere -

I'm starting to follow Supermarvelman on this and think Rogers fakes his death rather than actually dies. I've heard of a picture of a man with bucaneer boots on being carried away.

It's just past Cap or possibly Fury, I just can't think of anyone that hasn't been confirmed already as being one of Marvel's 'most beloved characters'. Atleast tho it was confirmed that Daredevil appears in the Wolverine denial book, so we can count him out too.

Well, I got New Avengers 27 in the mail today (early, yea), and I can all but confirm that the new Ronin is
not Cap. (During a fight with Elektra and the Hand ninjas, in amongst the normal banter of Spidey, the new Ronin asks "Yo Cage, do they always talk this much during a fight" showing that this person is not too familiar with this team. This person also may or may not be familiar with Matt Murdoch and Echo. My best guess for the identity is Clint Barton)

So, Cap may very well be the Fallen Son. I was hopinf against it, but...I guess we'll see in another 2 weeks.

P.S. Off topic, but the interaction between Luke and Elektra toward the end of the book was great.

Luke: Elektra, right?"

Elektra: Luke Cage

Luke: RRRRR...I got a message from Matt Murdock.

Elektra: Yeah?

Luke: He told me, if I see you, to give you this...

*Luke kicks Elektra between her legs*

Actually

Wasn't Hercules in Heroes for hire with Cage? He knows many forms of fighting and weapon usage, and played a pretty big part as Cap's bruiser in CW. I can see him joining under that name and would have np with Herc being an Avenger again if it's not Cap.

Yeah, but did Ronin display any feats of strength? The whole motivation doesnt really work with the character anyways, not to mention Herc doesnt talk like that. My money is on Hawkeye.

I can't see Herc saying "yo".

If he dies, he dies.
