Marvel Comics Solicitations For May 2007

Iron Fist got the mark in the process of getting the power of the Iron Fist. The dragon's heart had been removed and a magical link existed between dragon and heart. Fist had to break the link to kill the dragon so he blocked the hole in the dragon's chest where the heart had been removed by covering it with his own chest. This caused the power of the dragon that had been flowing out of it and to the heart to flow into Fist instead. Calling it a brand is probably closest to the truth but it may be a mystic construct just as much. The Steel Serpent stole the power of the Iron Fist by covering up Danny's brand with his own chest and hanging on long enough.

What the hell is your problem? All I said was Aja and Brubaker thought Iron Fist needed an upgrade for his suit. Before you start saying things for no reason, let me just clarify something for you. If you read the DC Cut for Immortal Iron Fist, you'd understand that the suit Iron Fist has may not be his new suit. Just a different verison he'd wear from time to time. The extras shown clearly point out Iron Fist wearing for versions for his suit. If you want to take what I said in a way that makes you come off like an ass, then go ahead. But i'll provide proof of what I'm talking about first.

This is the design page for the suit variations, with Aja's comments about what I was talking about.

That enough for you? The original suit may still be there, but with the ninja boots instead. A little change can never hurt, so I don't see what's the big deal.

Did you see the lil' smiley at the end of my comment about you and Dread and Darth? That means I was joking. Go stick your chest against a humor dragon's chest and see if you gain any.:whatever::p:D

Now that you posted that pic I'm even more certain that the current costume is the new one. It mentions that the collar didn't work, the open chest is very 70's, they gave him ninja boots (I hate how some people think ninja is the MSG of martial arts :() and that when his old one got destroyed was the opportunity to change it. Oh, and the last fragment when it refers to the open chest one in the past sense it clinches it, IMO. But, you've read this a dozen times and still don't see that; it's okay, people can interpret things differently. I hope it's not a problem for you that I don't like the costume and I express it. If you have a right to gush so much about it (and I'm fully aware you're a big IF fan) I have as much right to state my dislike about it.

I wondered the same thing. I just assumed it was ASM's turn to be late.

I'll assume it wasnt solicited due to classified information or whatever.

Don't they usually just put a big "CLASSIFIED LOLZ" where the description would be and/or withhold the cover image? I thought if it wasn't in the solicitations, vendors actually couldn't order it, which would mean it's not being distributed that month.

Not really, they do it all the time. In the past She-Hulk hasnt shown up on solicitations, but has still come out. Vendors get order sheets with the actual information.

Not really. I got this info from retailers themselves. Like Marvel would tell them order a lot of ASM, its really important, but they dont have any info to go along with it.

it's true.

and i don't know if you guys know this but sometimes books arrive early. like way early, sometimes weeks in advance. but the retailer can't sell them until the "ship date".

the one comic shop i used to go to when i lived on the west side used to sell me the "early birds" if they came in.

It happens less and less now, since now most comics are being rushed to the printer like a week before.

right, typically minis and oneshots.

1602 came out early. believe it or not, but battle chasers #1 came out early.

I believe Battle Chasers #1 came out early. It's from #2 on that I would call you a bloody liar just like Darthphere for.

The ASM issue in May is #541, it was solicited last month but because (I'm guessing here) of the CW delays that pushed back #538, they had to push back the others, too. Hence why #539, which was supposed to come out in Feb. was pushed back to March.
