I guess this was originally a BBC/Sky show that is now airing on SyFy...
I am trying to decide which is worse, the writing or the directing.
Only on Episode 3 but almost removed it from the queue after the first two. The overall writing, story, dialogue, etc seems like it is at the level of a high school writing project. The directing is... well... was someone actually directing or did they just start running the cameras and whatever happened happened? At first I thought that it was just bad acting, but then I realized that it was the directing.
Boss mom Harper back at headquarters, is she just a cardboard cutout of the actress that they move around? Can someone give her direction so that she knows the camera is on?
Prisoner mom Tula, what the heck are those faces that she has been making in the first 3 episodes? Is she supposed to be scary? Crazy? The actress can't see how goofy she looks so someone directed her to do that, and then keep doing that, then edited it together and decided that it didn't need reshot since she looked ridiculous.
Flores and the snake tongue woman are the only ones providing any worthwhile acting so far. Acting INSPITE of whatever they are calling a director.
More writing/directing mess that just happened. The three are trying to sneak into the compound and walking up the drainage ditch, one person in bright yellow? They then "hide" from drones flying around, have a short chat, look back up at the drones and the dialogue is "Oh , where did they come from?" You actually stopped before the dialogue because of the drones. Writing, directing, editing, poop.
