Hey all, I got a quick question i wanted to ask. I currently have internet explorer 7 here installed on my laptop and i have a bunch of websites saved as my favorites. I have a recent update i havent made official yet, where my laptop wants me to install IE 8. So my question is if i do the update for IE8 will all my saved favorites be in IE 8's saved favorites or not. This is just a little question i would like to know answer to if any one can help me out. Thanks in advance for any help.

yes you'll be fine, but if you are concerned about your bookmarks go to c:documents and settings/your profile and copy your favorites to another folder and then after you install IE8 just paste it back in there.

Ok thanks for answering my question. I just didnt want to lose my saved favorites you know cause i have alot of saved links and all that. Thanks again for helping me out.

i think i kinda wish i had not updated to IE8. i think i've had more problems with that than i did IE 7.

the main thing i want it to do, is on my old IE, when I saved something from ancestry.com for example, it asked me if i wanted to open the folder i saved it in (aka temp internet files), and when I'd say yes, the folder would pop up and i could save the files to My Documents or wherever i wanted.

Now i can't do that :( i don't get the popup message and I can't find the folder either ugh

Wow, people still make this statement?

Yes, some people still use IE. get over it. Unfortunately, some people don't know any better or have to use it. We have to at work. Firefox or any other browser is not allowed on work machines.

yea i have to use IE at work also, the new IE looks much better than the old versions but its no Firefox :D

Agreed there. I am hearing a lot of complaints about IE8. We are still using IE6 at work until all the testing of 8 is cleared through our software testing group. I assume when we got to Windows7 and office 07, we will make the jump to IE8 too. God help us all that day.
