Into the Wild

I was speechless, it truley is one of this year's best movies.

I love movies that are narrated, and I though the handwriting on the screen was quite original, very clever to do that. I'm not an Eddy Vedder fan, but the songs were great.

I saw this the other day, and I am speechless. There are no words I can use to describe how this movie has affected my view upon film making and life itself. I went straight to the library to get a few of Krakauer's novels, and I have burned through them. I cant honestly say that I have seen a better film in my life.

I saw it last month. I don't think I'd say it is the best movie I've ever seen, even this year (though I'd put it in the top 5), but it was still an amazing movie that is truly inspiring and had a profound imapct on me.

Just superbly acted, told directed and an amazing harrowing tale full of warmth, humor and humanity. I have to say the kid may have been wrong in the end about the extent and detail to pursue this (and got himself killed) but the trancedenalist message is pure and inspiring inspite of his mistakes.

Great movie. 10/10.

I saw this last night. I walked out absolutely blown away, speechless. I had goosebumps all the way through the last 15 minutes. The picture of the actual Christopher McCandless was really eerie
It is a great story and told beautifully.

^Glad you liked it.

*Why aren't more people going to see this? :csad:

I been trying to see this for awhile, but no one will come with me. I feel weird going to the movies by myself, unless it's in the morning.

I hope you can make it soon.

*I think I'm going to one day make a pilgrimage and follow his path to Alaska.

I don't know why. In the morning, there is no one there, so I don't feel weird sitting by myself. But later at night is when I usually go and I would feel weird if I was there alone. I know, it doesn't make sense.

It makes sense. At night you're surrounded by couples on dates and/or families. It's a little uncomfortable.

No I think it does, I understand what you mean.

Sweet. I found a theater near my college that's showing it tomorrow morning at 11. I think I'm going to see it. Super excited!

Cool, hope you enjoy it man. I thought it was a great movie.

So I like to stir the pot a bit. :hq:

Christopher McCandless' Pilgrimage

People really should read the book...........it is VERY different from the movie....

Sean Penn had a hell of a time convincing the family to let him do this movie.........

I believe there was a certain amount of not exactly "mental illness", but definitely therapy driven need to "not become his father"....even though IMO, he was exactly like his dad.......you don't necessarily see it in the movie, except that he would totally degrade himself when he wasn't able to do something perfectly, which is alot like his dad.....but in the book, its pretty scary how much they are alike.

I finished reading the book a few days ago (got it for Xmas) and wow. You are right, Kel. While Penn did a hell of a job adapting it, the book is a different monster.

im almost done with the book. the movie was amazing. cant wait to buy it this week...whooohooooo!!!!!!!!

You must get the soundtrack....you will not be disappointed.

Just watched the movie. Fcking amazing! 5/5. This should be racing for the best movie Oscar and not that crappy Juno.
