Aaahh, great pictures Ioan Fan. It's a pity that we probably won't get to see him in a Hornblower uniform again. These pictures are nice to remember him as that great character, he was born to play. Hopefully we will feel the same about Reed Richards!

Dear God, why haven't I STILL seen Horatio Hornblower yet? I mean all my friends got to see him in English cuz there were reading Great Expectations but I need more Ioan DAMMIT!

"Dear God, why haven't I STILL seen Horatio Hornblower yet? "

I will forever thank my luck I knew of the previous Gregory Peck film and adored it, so that I decided to" import" one vhs of "that series" from Britain, just to give it a try-Spain is not the country which would naturally show movies of the Sharpe or Hornblowers type, and it hasnt. And there it was, the Examination for lieutenat( I even didnt know the order) and sweet, impossibly beautiful young Ioan in all his glowing glory

Oh well, if they dont make more movies, which would be a shame, at least we got to see him growing up with the character and becoming almost a captain. One epaulette is better than none.

Glorious.

I love Hornblower SO much!

However, I have officially given up on there being any new ones. It's just easier to live that way.

I stand ready to embrace the similarly brilliant, socially inept, and big hearted Dr. Richards in his stead. :)

A tragedy. And in Trafalgar´s anniversary.Come on, frogs and us Dagos beaten hard and completely, and no gloating, rule Britannia and all that? Not only a litle bit of Horatio????:(

Me too,as we have the consolation of getting the most hornblowerian superhero available, elasticity apart. And in blue too, as Ioan Fan said. And in spandex. And with the coincidence of being the only Marvel book I started buying in 1983.I should be jumping in joy, really.

I, too, find the apparent lack of new Hornblowers to be profoundly depressing. However, I am tired of moping over what I do not have. I'd rather celebrate what I'm getting!

Indeed! "Hornblowerian" is my new favorite word! Thanks for making it up!

Anyway, just letting the Ioan fans here who live in the US that Ioan will be in a show called "Class of 2006" on the Biography Channel on Monday 13th June at 10.00 pm.

CELEBRITY ALTERNATIVE: Wow, imagine this - celebs who get attention not with weird romances or bad behavior, but (no way!) actual talent. "Class of '06: Stars on the Verge" (Monday at 10 p.m., Biography) focuses on such worthies as "Horatio Hornblower's" Ioan Gruffudd, "Veronica Mars" star Kristen Bell, "The O.C.'s" Nicholas Gonzalez and "Ray's" Kerry Washington. More at www.biographychannel.com /classofxx.

Just got done watching this show. It repeats a few more times. Ioan was wonderful and looked and sounded "fantastic". The also showcased Jessica Alba, Kerry Washington, and Michael Chiklis!

There were different clips shown of "FF" for each of them as well as still pics showing them in other roles. They showed several from "Horatio Hornblower" for Ioan. They spent about two minutes talking but no "one on one" interviewer was shown, just the editor of the magazine speaking and narrating each one.

Ioan was funny with his answer when asked what would have to occur in order for him to be able to say he finally reached the top. He answered: "appearing on Oprah"!! LOL!!!

Hopefully I'll be able to put a link up to our ioanonline site to view a video clip of it. The gal that always does them for our site was supposedly going to do one for this. I'll post again if that happens.

Here's the link to the video clip page containing the link to the show. Thanks to Lynn over at ioaononline.com for making the clip!! Just scroll down slightly to the "Interviews" and it's the third one ("Ioan on Biography Channel")

He's multitasking -- defeating evil with one hand, mailing letters with the other. Horatio would be so proud!

Mrs. F.

page two, tha page of evil

*diabolical laughter*

er...i mean..page two, thats a bad thing.

Hes defeating the evil mailbox of doooooom

Ever mailed a bill with no stamp and wish you could reach into the mailbox and have it back? I'll bet Mr. Fantastic doesn't worry about that.
