iPod help

Okay, so here's the problem: Everytime I plug my iPod into my computer I get a message saying that the device is not recognized, or has malfunctioned. I've already reinstalled the iPod software.

Can someone help me?

Have you tried it on another computer? Have you tried it with a different wire?

If it works on either of those, I'd rollback your system about a week, and then do a virus/spyware check.
