I have an iPod mini and recently everytime I turn on iTunes it tells me that communication between the program and the iPod itself doesn't work and to reinstall iTunes. Unfortunately some little thing in my computer, the atl.dll seems to be corrupted and I can't do anything to fix it.

Any help, or am I going to have to have to backup my hard drives and do a complete reinstall of the system?

Search or ask the forums over at http://www.apple.com/support for more in depth info, but I'd back up all your music, uninstall iTunes completely and then reinstall with the latest version and see if that helps. Sounds like you got a corrupted version of a .dll alright.
