Iron Man Iron Man Movie Worries

I don't get why a crappy animated DVD has anything to do with the movie. Case in point, Ultimate Avengers sucked, but the Ultimates comic is still great.

I actually liked Ultimate Avengers.

All I was saying is that they delivered a poor story in the animated DVD. They condensed, created and based those 73 minutes on the legend of Iron Man. The live action writers had the exact same job to do. I hope the plot of the movie is more coherent with nothing in common with the animated DVD.

It's just a slight worry but it's a worry I didn't have about the movie before I saw the animated DVD. I'm not losing any sleep over it and I'm not reaching for the Xanax just yet.

My worries are more to do with the CGI than anything else. That's what i've hated about the Spider-Man films so far, that Spidey has looked like this big cartoon when there are action scenes, hanging from his rope and so forth. I would have wanted for Iron Man at least for a genuine, prop armor. But Favreau said it will be all CGI. It needs to have a physical armor that we can touch. so Downey can feel what it's really like being inside an armor.

The CGI when used will be awesome but Favreau will also be using Practical effects whenever he can. That's his thing.

The animated movie will have no bearing on the success of Favreau's movie, at all.

You're looking at it from a much too fanboy-ish perspective. The people who "dont know who Iron Man is" sure as heck didn't buy the animated movie on dvd; the only people who bought it are parents and fans (who will be going to see the real film, regardless).

It will not taint the view of anybody. That's like thinking that The Batman would have a negative effect on Batman Begins.

When I originally posted this thread I said I hope this cartoon dosen't have any effect on the live action movie. And all I'm saying is that the cartoon COULD have an effect on the movie. People who rent or buy this cartoon I think will be very disappointed in the story, characters, development, and serious lack of decent action. For people who are new or coming back to Iron Man this is a terrible introduction. There are elements in the cartoon that have been talked about for the live action movie. And it will not be a big stretch to link these movies in some peoples minds. I hope Favreau views this cartoon and learns what not to put on the big screen. I can't believe this animated feature was even released by Marvel and LG. Especially when this character could become the next big franchise.

Well for a movie that's still almost a year and a half away about a "lesser known" comic book character, Iron Man is currently #1 on the most visited previews at Yahoo http://movies.yahoo.com/mv/upcoming/ , above Spiderman 3 and TDK and a host of others.
