Remember in the first movie after Stark finished his armor and went back to the Middle East and saved those families in that village?

I remember his turning over that thug to them and saying "He's all yours" in a deep modulated voice.

But later we hear more of Tony's voice just talkin' through.

Why did they change that? Is it because he blew his secret I.D. at the end?

I did like the electronic voice,

Yeah you're right. That voice was much better. I'm guessing once RDJ became a hit they wanted as much RDJ as they could possibly get.

Yeah, I don't think he needed to disguise his voice anymore so he changed it later.

Makes sense....but which do you like better?

I do like the modulated voice, i just think they wanted to get as much of RDJ in these films.

It works with the story though, as Tony would have been dumb not to disguise his voice then and dumb to disguise it later.

really? even though it was modulated, I still thought it clearly sounded like him

No need to disguise his voice? I think that's all it is.

I loved his modulated voice in the middle-east scene, it sounded a lot like the cartoon voice from the 90's and I was dissapointed they didnt carry on with it.

The modulated voice in IM1 was awesome. The epitome of badass.

Modulated voice by far!, I think that is a trademark of Iron Man, the voice sounds like that because of the metal suit he’s wearing,, IMO,,

Well when he gives up his secret identity he doesn't really need to disguise his voice anymore. So I think getting rid of it worked story wise.

I prefer the modulated voice, but I understand why Tony didn't continue using it.

Probably. But I did like the "He's all yours" voice, just sounded great.

Very true. I don't have a problem with him using his normal voice after revealing his identity, but yeah, the modulated voice is way more badass.

I preferred the modulated voice, it sounded intimidating

There are actually still a couple scenes with Iron Man in the MCU where it seems there still might be a tad of voice modulation, for example in the Avengers, when Thor takes loki, All of Stark's lines to Cap directly afterword are a bit more robotic sounding.

Glad this was brought up. Not sure why they went away from the modulated voice. What's interesting is even in the books you can tell his voice is modulated by the way they do the voice boxes.

Right. I love the modulated voice for Iron Man and the old english voice for Thor. Very throw back to the comics.

Wow, I was thinking about this just yesterday! The "He's all yours" line sounded way cooler than any of his other lines, and I wish it had carried through... But yeah, I know why they dropped it.

The voice modulation was a nice touch in the first one. I wish they'd kept it, known identity or not. As hit on earlier though, it's obvious why they dropped it.
