Is Dane Cook stealing material?

I'll tell you why I feel that way. If someone who's not considered successful or talented in their field starts complaining about someone who IS (at least more than they are) and accuses them of being a thief and a fraud, it comes off as them just being jealous of the other person's success, which hurts their credibility. Yeah, Rogan has big balls for calling these guys out, but...is he doing it because he genuinely cares or because he's jealous of their success (particularly because he doesn't really bring HARD evidence to the table, but just cites random examples of things he thinks they stole). I've said it before; if he was serious about this, he'd organize a class action lawsuit and stick it to these guys he's accusing legally and prove it once and for all in front of a courtroom. THEN he'd truly damage their reputations like he seems to be intent on doing and make it nearly impossible for them to steal material in the future. As it stands, he's just a whiny b1tch looking for publicity.

I don't know what Rogan's motivation if he's just trying to make a name for himself or if it about the principle. All I know is that Rogan has been calling Mencia out for a while, possibly years, saying he steals jokes, it just came to head a month ago when Mencia was actually in the building.

but spare Rogan as he is the one who has been frontrunning the outing of "comics" who have been stealing material.

That doesn't make him funny. Hell, I don't even know why he is involved. Who would want to steal Joe Rogan's material?

I liked Dane Cook better a few years ago when not that many people knew who he was. Then when I met someone who made a joke reference it would be awesome. Now he's everywhere :csad:

Note to all comedians:

Jokes about seeing someone hit by a car, naming your kids weird names and itchy *******s are all off limits. Louis CK called dibs on those subjects back in '01. Although I'm not really sure Louis CK can be credited for the kids thing, celebrities have a naming their kids f'ed up names long before '01.
Yeah but Dane's jokes follow the same outline as CKs.

I liked Louis CK's Lucky Louie sticom on HBO too. :o

FHM went out of business.:csad: Thank god for Stuff and Maxim.

FHM US went out of business. FHM UK is still up and running.

Dane completely stole the "Struck by a Vehicle" bit from Louis. I first heard Louis tell that joke in 2001, maybe even in a lesser known performance in 1999. Dane's rip-off didn't appear until 2005, maybe a little earlier.

Generic joke subjects and seeing someone get hit by a car (Dane's version) or run into a car door (Louis' version) and wanting to say something but not having enough time so you just make a weird sound are very different things. Dane ripped him off, period.

I didn't even know about the other stuff Dane stole.

EDIT : Guess that vid's already been posted.

Why! The guy who makes that video pretty much shows how massive a liar he is.

That guy is Rogan's hype man. His name is Redban and jocks Rogans nuts, which probably why that comes across as just a LITTLE biased.:cwink:
