I did hear that the NSA wiretaps played a part in tracking these guys down. However, unlike in previous instances they acquired FISA court warrants first. See, it doesn't hinder us in the fight against terrorism, like the Bush administration tried to claim when caught circumventing the FISA courts earlier this year.
