This is hardly news. They have been going on about that missile "shield" for nearly a decade.

I doubt Russia today could take on Western Europe, much less the United States.

There is no missile threat from Iran or nuclear one for that matter. This shield is an entire waste of resources and designed to put pressure on Russia's military ambitions.

No. The world is not insane enough to engage in a true World War right now, especially with mediating institutions in place like the UN, NATO, etc that keep true first world powers connected on some necessary, diplomatic level. They squabble all the time, but Russia and China aren't insane enough to take on the US in a conventional military, troops-on-the-ground, missiles-in-the-sky war (and vice-versa).

World War 3 won't happen until our dwindling resources finally begin to run out in about 50 years. Then crap's gonna go down.

Aren't most countires broke and having huge civil unrest right now why are we wasting time and money on these hypothetical threats from countries like North Korea and Iran who are all talk and no action.

The Chinese aren't too happy about the U.S moving troops to bases in Australia either.

I'm more concerned about the hullabaloo around Iran's nuclear program. Whether or not it is for military use or not is beside the point. If the sites are targeted, crap is going down.

Irans nuclear program has been messed up over the last few years as its constantly under cyber attack. Its been hit by viruses that have damaged the equipment and lost them research.

Iran has so many enemies they don't even know who is doing it to them too. We don't have to worry about their nuclear ambitions as some sercret service hacker isn't going to allow them to get it off the ground.

True, but don't forget that Japan got its taste for imperial conquest outside its borders from World War 1, when it participated in attacks on and subsequently took control of a couple of Germany's Asian territories. And by then, it had become as powerful as it had been by adopting the military strategy and management practices of Germany, England and other European powers.

Putin is already in power.....Mevedev is nothing more than his puppet. He has no power of any kind.

And an Asian Union would probably be more along the lines of the European Union.

I think it is clear to all he is a puppet . And it is being labeled as a European Union style thing. The idea is being put out though as an act of Propaganda. Putin is using it for a push to maintain his power, but I think he still intends to act on it once "in power" again.
