Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's "Over the Rainbow"

Reading Rainbow? That is what this thread reminded me of. That theme song of theirs is so damn catchy!

 

I have never heard that song in the wrong context. It's gorgeous the way he sings it. His voice, added to the minimal instrumentation, adds this whole new level of innocence. My favorite time hearing it was at the end of an episode of "Cold Case" about the murder of a mentally ******ed teenager, and it played over the last sequence after the murderer and his motivation were discovered, with images of the victim popping up here and there. Beautifully done.
