so, it's been a really long while since I last time I made a thread

but alas, here we are

turns out, that my bosses thought that I was doing a good enough job to send me over to San Antonio, TX for a month of training and stuff

don't get me wrong, this is a very nice place, the wife and I came over a while ago to see Muse and Aretha Franklin

but at the moment, I'm feeling kinda sad and lonely... missing the wife and kids and not knowing what the hell to do

but anyhoo, I'll be here until the 25th of April, studying, and maybe sightseeing

anyway, if any Hypesters in the area want to get together for a couple of beers, I'll be here throughout the month

cheers

well, just got off MSN with my son
told him I missed them all and scolded him for being awake at this ungodly hour

I'm off, be well

if anyone's here, please say "ha-hooo"

take care

I live about 5 hours away from San Antonio...too far so sorry:(

Yeah, having similar issues myself friend. Girlfriend is in freaking Austria of all places till May. Just had a two and a half hour phone call with her deciding if my going to chicago for law school decision is right or not. turns out her mom has been nay-saying and now my girlfriend is second guessing herself. and that would be fine if i didnt have to pick between moving to chicago or staying in st. louis by april 1st. so now it's 5 a.m. i just had a bratwurst, and am complaining to strangers on the hype.

so, question is, how did you get your wife to agree it was the right decision to go to san antonio?

Taco Cabana... hit it with the fury of 10 hungry stomachs. Leave room for margaritas.

Good luck...I have had 6 week training session overseas and really the only thing to do is make "freinds" with other trainees and visit the area.

well, mostly because we both are aware that this trip will have a possitive effect on my career, thus, a better salary, and additional perks, so she's game with it

well, gotta go, have a session in ten minutes

I'll be around anyway

thanks for the tips

if anyone is homesick, feel free to post here

PLAS, I miss you.
P.S. I didn't know you had a son.

How many trainees are there with you? Perhaps you could befriend them and go out for drinks and the like. I'm sure they're in a similar predicament.

Head to the river. Find a table near river that serves margaritas. Order chips and salsa. Write something down.

If you're gonna be lonely... at least utilize the background. :D

:thing: :doom: :thing:

I'm sociable enough, so that's not a problem, and I'm right by the Riverwalk

it is a fun place and we're all coworkers, from different parts of the country

the problem is that I miss home

and yes, I do have a son

If I weren't on the other side of the country, I'd be hip to it.

Go to the Alamo and get them to show you the basement. It's a real hoot.

My politics teacher is from San Antonio. She said all there is to do there is go to Spurs games.

There is plenty to do in San Antonio...

like almost getting killed by people who don't know how the hell to drive. That's always a blasty blast.
