I hate twilight, but I'd be lying if I didn't say they know how to pick some good looking people. Soo...that's a good thing.

I really don't understand how fingerless gloves or tight-ish jeans make this a Twilight knockoff, but okay.

He looks great.

I know. Not only skinny jeans, but in general people are wearing form fitting jeans now. (I do). OVERLY baggy jeans are out of style. Heck even rappers are wearing smaller jeans. To me that's not a bad thing.

3. Your skin has the ability to stick to solid objects. Like a spider. :) ;)
So will his Spider-Man gloves be fingerless too?

And shouldn't his shoes/socks be toeless, so his toes can stick to solid objects as well?

:cwink:

Well that is different. I actually really like the costume and Garfield's general look as Peter. While I do like Maguire's performance, it is no secret that Andrew Garfield looks a lot more like the comics Peter. In fact, the entire look reminds me of JRjr's general illustrations of him.

....But they took that hair perhaps a bit too far. While artists like JRjr and McNiven could draw him with long, stylish hair because it looked good on the page, on film everything has to have a reality to it. Unless Webb is going to surprise us and pull a Zack Snyder/Robert Rodreguiez (which I don't particularly want to see), then I'm not that big a fan of the look.

It implies Peter Parker stands in front of the mirror an hour or two every morning putting gel in his hair and getting the right look. That just doesn't fit his character. But I'll wait to see how it looks in the trailer and how Webb has it photographed before I make a big deal about it one way or another.

andrew garfield shed a tear when he first saw himself in the spidey suit?

Yeah, what a miscast.
spidey should never cry!!! Crying is for babies!!! Spider-man doesn't have feelings!!!! Raimi destroyed spider-man and by proxy my childhood.

Why won't hollywood hire me to make the spider-man movie!! I am the only true fan of spider-man!!

THIS. I'm tired of the gee whiz nerd act. Just a normal Parker is what I want.

...Well technically when Stan Lee created Peter he was a "normal, gee whiz" nerd for his high school career. It is not until Peter was in college--and John Romita Sr. joined the book and added romance/sexiness to the drawings--that he became "normal" handsome, charming-in-a-geeky way Peter. Which is what most writers have written since.

But ain't this supposed to be his school years? :oldrazz:

It really is quite amazing (and ironic) how much maintenance and hair product is needed for the supposed messy, bed-head look.

Yeah I realize that. I don't want him to be one of the cool kids, just a guy who doesn't give himself enough credit. A normal nerd I guess makes sense. Just not overtly so.

.....no....its really not. A small dab of paste on your fingers (I used the "bed head" brand when i had that style), and mess your hands through your hair like you're drying it with a towel. Less than 5 minutes (including washing the sticky off your hands) and you're good to go.

I have ruffled hair. A pea-sized amount of (insert brand and preference) and just drag it through. Mine's done in 30 seconds.

So. Much. Herp. So. Much. Derp.

We need to cleanse the Hype. Too much. Just too much.

Of course I do. What, you saying you're the standard people should aim for? There's really no need to be making things personal.

well, considering the ridiculousness of the hair discussion, and how my post directly above yours says practically the same thing - arguing against how long it takes to get a messy look - I assumed you'd understand ridiculousness of my reply. But you didn't, so I apologize if I hurt your feelings. Didn't mean to break any eggs, there chief.

No it's fine. I probably took it worse because the boards seem quite hostile at the minute. Plus, I was thinking you're a tart for spending so long on yours. I'm not gonna kiss you or anything.

Although I was really only kidding, I've actually been wondering that for years to be honest. I've always been curious, how do his "spider-skin" abilities work through the fabric? LOL. I know, such a mundane question, but for some reason, I couldn't get it out of my head for a while. :woot:

(Possible solution: Pete spent 36 hours straight with a thin needle, pricking holes in his gloves and boots to match up exactly with the alignment of his "spider-hair protrusions" coming from his hands and feet. :o)

Maybe the hairs can go through the thin spandex, but not through thick winter gloves?

Edit: Love your idea though. :funny:

His spidey nervous system has the ability to control the atomic static cling to the surfaces he touches. Sounds good to me! :word:

Totally dig his look. The hair really only looked weird in one picture I saw, in the rest, it looked fine. What I like about Garfield's look (even his clothes too) is that he looks like a normal teenager that you can identify with, and I also think that is something his performance will bring out. Garfield has this sense of humanity and relatability to him, and I think that is what will be key to his performance. Can't wait for more pics

If you want to see some real pathetic whining about his hair and gloves and how this is absolutely just like Twilight because he has messy hair in one picture, go to **************.com

Comingsoon.net had some extreme backlash too with the Twilight BS.

Steve Ditko himself said he designed the costume to be extremely light and thin so he could stick to walls inside it.
