This costume made me love the Raimi design even more, I already adored it and was my #1 superhero costume ever made in a movie and now were getting this?

It's like making a perfect plate of Alfredo pasta and then say "Wait let me throw in some soy sauce and ginger in there too make it "different"".

I guess you guys won't like the reboot then, oh well, at least you have your Spider-Man 1 - 3 DVDs

Those comparison shots make it even more apparent how much better the Raimi suit is.

I'm sorry but the new costume is awful. I'm really trying to look for a positive but all I keep seeing is "Lets add random seams to make it look more futuristic looking".

The only saving grace is the mask at this point. Please let the mask be the coolest thing ever otherwise this isn't going to stick well with me at least.

I disagree, the new costume is superb. Classic but updated blend, BLACK webbing, Garfield's slender Spider-Man like build, dark and gritty setting, I love it!

its ok, I want to see it in action. I am more intrested to see how he acts as Peter. I have seen Pater in various forms of the coustume over the years, bu I continue on cause I love the character of Peter, not the coustume itself.

Like I said in another thread the costume won't come in between me and a well made Spider-Man film. If it does in fact turn out to be a good movie.

Just for me the Raimi costume is so damn good that I can't help but say damn what a downgrade to myself.

Everything else about the movie I've liked so far but the costume.

I could be wrong..but I think that maybe the costume is wet, either from rain or a fight beneath the city ...and it could be that is what is giving the "shine" plastic/leather vibe...who knows it may have less sheen in another shot ..and have more of a flat appearance..

Yep. And "classic" MJ, "classic" quipping Spidey, classic Goblin costume (ok.. scratch that one t: but he could of made THAT non classic but in a better way.. darker.. Man I cannot wait to see some of the villains looks in this and the moves to come).

I think this new suit is a good take on Spider-Man, it would have been lazy on the filmakers to just run with the Raimi suit once again. So I see this suit as being a different interpretation, it keeps some of the same elements but also deviates from it. Can't expect everyone to like it though, but I will say they did their best to seperate their universe from the Raimi one.
