What on earth was wrong with the Raimi suit?

I mean, I love this one, but does that mean the older suit sucks now?

It doesn't suck. The new one looks a lot better though.

I like both suits but Garfeild has a better look for peter. Not saying he is better then Tobey, that we cant see from a simple picture.

I could be wrong..but I think that maybe the costume is wet, either from rain or a fight beneath the city ...and it could be that is what is giving the "shine" plastic/leather vibe...who knows it may have less sheen in another shot ..and have more of a flat appearance..

yeah really, there was nothing wrong with the Raimi suit at all, it remained true to the comics and it added a little bit of flair to keep it contemporary for modern day. We're getting to 2 different versions of Spider-Man, I look at Raimi's version along the lines of the original 616 comics, despite some of the liberties that he took, and this new reboot as more of the ultimates version.

Yeah, a house cat could have done that lol. The face scratch could be a slight miss because Peter tried to dodge a swipe but Lizard got a piece.

I think you guys are missing the point of his confusion. The claw marks on his face feature the same distinct patterns of a paw that is found on his chest, only scaled smaller to a larger degree.

Even if Spidey avoided a near-fatal blow, at best there would only be one scratch mark on his cheek. Lizard's claws doesn't change proportion so it wouldn't make sense to have the same number of markings on a smaller target.

I dig it. Really, all I was looking for in the new costume was something that looks cool and looks like Spider-Man. This suit checks both boxes and I like some of the updates made to it:

1. Really like the look of the gloves and/or webshooters
2. The colors look nice, even though it's a dark shot
3. Spider symbol looks neat
4. Like the dirty and gritty look of the suit in the shot, and the overall gritty feel of the shot in general (claw marks = teh Lizard FTW)
5. Garfield looks incredibly like PP here to me, from the hair, face, to build.

I'm pleased overall and am excited for more pics.

If you just slap at someone with your hand relaxed, your 3 fingers are closer together than if you flex your hand like your making a claw (making your fingers stronger) where they spread out more.

Also, we do not have a real good look at the face claw marks either. I think it's fine.
