I blew a scholarship to college because I was stupid. Any idea how many "I told you so's" I got after that? I remember my parents faces, and it sucks. Not sad or anger; just enormous dissappointment; but dont fool yourself into thinking theyve never felt the same way you do (like I did) because theyre more understanding than your giving them credit for.

I think they just want to lighten up the situation. Sure, it's very serious but it can be funny if the characters are funny. Actually, I thought the movie was more serious/mature than I thought it would be (which is a good thing). It is from the same guy that made Anchorman and Ricky Bobby, afterall.

It is hard to give you real advice, Echo without knowing the situation. Probably 90 % of the broad generalizations people are throwing out there "Be honest, keep going" etc...will not work in this situation. If you want real advice you have to be more open.
