J.K Rowling says, "please do not spoil my final book"

We need something to complain about beforehand. We're a nation of instant gratification, we can't wait anymore.

It's sad really in a way, I really try to avoid spoilers for movies I'm looking forward to.

Of course just being on this website, I've encounted pics in threads that had nothing to do with those movies.

i guess kids are'nt in your future,eh?

My kids will be perfect :o Its only other people's kids and fictional kids that I hate. I'm having kids when I'm old enough to cope.

I haven't read anything past Obsidian Butterfly, actually. I have one of the Merry Gentry books but I've not read it. Has she degraded quite a bit?

Plotless, badly written psudeo-kink wannabe porno ****, to put it nicely. Last offering I think was something like 500-odd pages, took place over 12 hours. Was pretty much a case of 'Oh noes! The world is in danger! Someone SEX MEH so I can save teh worldz!', 100 page cringeworthy sex scene plus pointless repetitive infodumping and in total about 10 pages of real plot for the whole book. Ever single male character has become a clone with no balls who exists purely to **** anita...

Yeah. Not a happy Kaz.

I like Rowling but also love Tad Williams  Great author.

Have you read Tailchaser's song? I haven't got to that one yet... the Green Angel Tower series was amazing.

tad williams must be some sort of gimicky writer because his aquaman run is boring as hell.

...

He writes epic 1000+ page fantasy novels... I don't know about anything else. In the ones of his that I've read, he's amazing. Never found a plot hole or a missed characterisation yet.

I'll punch whoever tells me...

but to make sure for sure, i'm gonna lock myself up and then read it...

I'm tempted to buy a copy on the first night, flick through to the end, and then read the ending over a megaphone to the people lined up outside the bookstores witing to buy it, or anyone I see sat reading it anywhere.

It is quite a shame that we have to avoid most media coverage to avoid being spoiled.

The one thing I don't get is people scouring the internet trying to find scripts for movies that don't even come out for a year.

I mean on one hand it's great to see a story play out on screen, but if you know what's going to happen next, it kills the surprise. I don't get these type of people.

but then fan boys will explode without nothing to ***** about

I'd rather read some Laurell K. Hamilton.

I found that by the time she got the cerulean dreams (at least with Anita Blake, havent read Merry Gentry yet), it was all getting a little bit tiresome: was there any kind of preternatural creature that Anita wasnt humping?

Have you tried Kelley Armstrong?

as for the question, seeing as she wrote it, its a little late for JKR to worry about them being spoiled, isnt it?

You should do it!
It's exactly why I'm not going first night though

This man is making a good point. Read Kelly Armstrong. Collect all her stuff. Read it all. She makes LKH look like the cheap [and somewhat scary] hack that she really is.

That would actually make you my hero.

Funny thing is that based on her writing style after reading all the books, I think I figured out the ending... it's fairly predicitable and I hope it's not how I think it's going to end. If she's smart she'll stay away from what I'm thinking... I'm not even going to put my idea into spoilers because someone will look and then say I spoiled it and then I'll get banned :( *sigh* It's happened before on one other board I used to visit, I don't go there anymore...
