I haven't watched the show. However I am enjoying the social media reaction from a certain portion of its fanbase to Alan Ritchson criticizing both Trump and police violence. They seem to feel personally betrayed because a big, muscular white man doesn't share their political views.

Spinoffs hurt my head almost as much as reboots, and seem to be another symptom of a lack of fresh ideas nowadays. Neagley was fine as a supporting character in Reacher but don't recall her as being hugely memorable or standout, not like (for example) Bob Odenkirk in Breaking Bad - was there really that much demand for a new show based on the character? The big draw for me in Reacher has been (and will likely remain) Reacher himself.

I’m not sure what to think about this season. Reacher going under cover hasn’t landed as well as I’d hoped. I absolutely love Ritchson and he is great in this role, but having him play Reacher trying to pose as someone else just seems to stretch his acting abilities a little too far. It’s almost like Ritchson is a good actor, but Reacher is a bit wooden.

But Duffy has been great. One thing this show does great is casting the “strong female lead” opposite Reacher. Roscoe was great in season 1 and Serinda Swan’s character was good in season 2. Now Duffy has kept the streak alive in season 3.

I don’t mind Reacher being undercover but that scene in the last episode where he was talking to Duffy ON SPEAKER PHONE in his room with nothing more than a running faucet to keep the bad guys from hearing him was laughable. I’m also really enjoying Duffy, especially her thoughts on Tom Brady lol.

I will say though that as perfect of a fit as Ritchson is for Reacher, there’s is NO WAY IN HELL anyone would ever get that buff eating normal food and not spending 4+ hours a day in the gym lol. Unless he starts his morning doing 10, 000 pushups I don’t see how he can look like that by almost never bench pressing or doing preacher curls. It doesn’t really matter but it’s just kinda funny. I also find it hilarious that anyone other than Paulie would try to pick a fight with him.
