Japanese robot-loves sushi, hates Bush

I bet it would smile if you said "Robots take over the earth."

You know, I see these videos of Japanese robots running, dancing, jumping, climbing stairs, etc. all like we humans can do. But I've yet to see a robot actually....do something useful.

they should stop wasting money on these bull**** inventions and create a mech suit already. I want to go on a frikkin mech-rampage.

like become our servents?

I swear Japan is like 10years ahead of the rest of the world technology wise.

Then they would really take over. That's why I'm all against actually using robots for that ****, one of those bastards might become self aware.

If it hates Bush does that mean they have finnally cracked the AI problem?

I do think one day things will be taken too far and they'll start thinking for themselves.

And then The Matrix can happen and I can be Neo. POWAH!

Too late, bub. Already a thread.

Takeno says that in a few years, Kansei will also have speech abilities and will be able to convey feelings, which could be useful in places such as nursing homes for the elderly.

God that's freaking scary. You think the last war over slavery was bad? We haven't seen nothing yet.

If this robot has feelings, than might it have negative feelings about humans treating it like a slave?

Hey it is hard to do a search on Japan and robots, there about a million threads on those subjects in this site.

Bad news for Japan then, hope those things don't swim. Japan has an obession with robots that the rest of the world doesn't have, I don't people would want those things as nurses in the West. Seriously you think they would build self destruction switchs in those things, if they turn against the human race.

We have just as much of an obsession with robots. We just don't give them facial features. Look at car factories. Practically all of their workforce consists of robots.

In fact we have investors working on building robot nurses in America to help us get through the baby boom retirement. There will be 2 working people for every 1 retired person, and there wont be enough human employees to run retirement homes or hospitals. within the next few decades we will see a ton of robot androids performing the work of a human.

This technology will surely spin off into the fast food industry, and from there on it will continue.

Where do we cross the line? Emotions, feelings, and free will. They should only be able to follow orders. In I Robot, the robots were programmed to never allow a human to come to harm. They were programmed to save humans without having to be told to do so.

That would be a mistake, because they should only be able to do what they are told.

Most likely the robot revolution will result in the following

dude....when the japanese make a robot that mocks you, you know its time to step down from office.

Thats true, if we can develop artifical brains, put them into robotics that become servents and workers, and make them do all our work, eventually they will start to learn that they dont want to do that for us, and will they learn emotions, learn tactics, learn self dafense, maybe even learn a means of comunication with eachother.

they will form a mech and robtic army, and eventually kill off all humans or make us their slaves in return.

it seems like a sci fi fantasy but it could be 100% real if technologys progress like that.

People need to hate Bush, not robots.

I think they do, after all someone programed that robot, afterall.

That is nothing compared to how obessed Japan is with robots seriously they have a ton cartoons, comics and live tv shows about robots. They made a Spidey show in 78 where Spidey has a giant robot.

Besides people have seen the terminator, they have keep the robots stupid so they don't turn against usd. Personally I would like a robot maid, I could order it around and not feel bad about it. Just give the robots self destruct switch that would sort their circuits, that way we could stop them if they get out of line.

It's wearing a grill.
