Documentary/Biopic Jason Reitman to Direct Film About Opening Night of SNL

Reitman definitely seems to have captured the vibe. I'll be there opening weekend for this one.

Holy ****, whoever that is as Belushi is almost uncanny.
Yeah it's probably for the best they cast an unknown for Belushi.
*Waits patiently for him to show up in the casting threads as the next MCU Wolverine* :o

Looks pretty good
Interested to hear more of their voices
All those actors had such distinctive tones and cadences, they gotta nail those too, possibly even more than the looks
Chevy sounds good but not perfect, while Lorne sounds pretty spot on

Was rewatching the Wolverines sketch and, this might be way too on the nose, but I think it'd be cool if the film ended with this sketch, and cut to black right as Chevy comes on set and says "Live from New York, it's-"

Again, when said out loud, it feels very cliche, like you'd expect the movie to do that. Maybe it won't, but I think it'd be neat. Also, yes, that poster is fantastic and kind of like The Holdovers, feels evocative of movie posters from that era.

I can see it ending like that with a montage of clips from the actual episode playing over the credits.

Nice to see the positive buzz, but still planning to be there regardless. Again, I think this movie has the potential to have real cross-generational appeal. Heck, my folks, who I don't think have seen a movie at the theater since 2003, would watch this because they grew up with this era of SNL.

the more I hear/see of it the more I cannot wait to see it

I just realized it hits theaters on the 49th anniversary of the debut episode, nice

I was surprised to see the trailer for this attached to Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. It'd be cool to see this get a boost from that for people who otherwise might not have even been aware that it was coming out.
