Jason Statham Wants To Be Daredevil

Yeah DD can be done in PG-13 (though I'm not sure Born Again can), but Miller wouldn't work in those confines and besides as good as Iron Man was, they are trying to make all their movies look the same and play very safe. It is why TIH, which was a very safe generic superhero movie still was cut down an extra 20 minutes. Marvel isn't taking any risks and Miller doing DD based on a graphic violent story that involves drugs, prostitution and murder is not what any studio would call safe, particularly for a superhero movie.

They'd be safer with RR or Snyder in the directors chair then Miller.

Here's a fast, crude manip I did of Statham with hair(not red, sorry) and some Ray Bans.

I'm not completely sold on him as Murdock, but I have to admit that the guy has clout in Hollywood at the moment as well as Miller on his side, so if anyone could manage to push a Daredevil restart it would be Statham. Having Miller in the mix kind of interests me as well, if he'd step away from this green screen crap he seems so attached to and made this a more realistic and gritty Daredevil.

I respect the guy (he bangs Kelly Brook) but he couldn't pull it off. He'd still be better than Ben Affleck though (hey, I also have some respect for Ben Affleck! But as a director :whatever:)

NoNoNoNoNoNoNoNoNoNo! Hell NO! He can be a stunt double, but that's it.

I've seen him in both Ritchie movies, Revolver, Bank Job, and of course Transporter. If it weren't for the Transporter movies, I would never have guessed he had the amazing athletic skills he displayed. He hasn't had to stretch too far beyond his Brit street persona, but I definitely think he's a capable actor. I'm not sure what superhero he could be, but he would definitely do the role justice.

PS. - Anyone would make a more credible Daredevil than Ben Affleck.

I am not saying he completely sucks. He does street guy well. I am saying he flat out sucks for Matt Murdock. If you can't play the character out of costume, you can't play the character, period.

I son't want Frank Miller to be the director of this movie. He can write the damn script but no way I will accept him as a director of this movie because his movie The Spirit looks horrible.
I don't want Miller directing, but I think he should be involved as a screen writer as long as he stays serious and not all All-Star Batman & Robin styled crazy.

If The Spirit is successful, well,.... let's just wait and see what Marvel(or Fox) says.:cwink:
I think Marvel will eventually be making the next Daredevil movie. Fox's hold on the rights won't last much longer and Marvel has expressed interest in getting them back.

No I'm the goddamn Daredevil then..?

I would so love to see Statham in a Bourne Movie or Bond Movie as a bad guy. I like Statham and i see him as today segal. Kick Butt is his thing and i welcome him as that.
Death Race i am seeing for it so looks like Beyond Thunderdome feel.

..yes, like Segal he has kicka$$ moves, but I see him more as a Steve McQueen/Clint Eastwood action hero in that he can be capable of adapting himself to diverse projects and is actually a decent actor.

I can't see him as Murdock, but I could see him as DareDevil. Unfortunately, he'd have to play both.

After seeing him in Transporter and Transporter 2, Cellular I think he would be my top choice. This man is a damn good fighter and making a dark Daredevil film unlike the other one Statham would be a awsome choice id love to see as the red hero. Statham is my #1 choice and i hope he will do the part for sure. Statham has the acting ability and credibility to play a complex part like this and kick ass.

Statham is Daredevil and he is my choice.

So....is Statham your choice for this role? It's unclear from your post.

He could always be in the Suite as the Daredevil as the stuntman or something if all goes to another actor. But one thing for sure, i hope they make the suite less leathery and have it more like the comics Like a type of material.

Could we be greedy and want Jason in the DD costume & another actor who is Matt Murdock?

i've quite a few movies Statham as been but there is no way in hell he could play Matt. I'm sure we'll see him in a comic flick eventually but if he wants to be in a DD film he is better suited to play Bullseye.

Has that ever happened in a movie before? I thought only the Power Rangers did that. I mean its one thing to have a different voice actor but two whole different actors for essentially the same character? Especially when there's probably a bunch of guys who could play Matt and (or at least get the right training in order to play) Daredevil.

Well Bale changes his voice a lot for Batman, maybe Jason can be the diff. sounding voice of DD.
