Jason Statham Wants To Be Daredevil

I think that Statham can pull it off... But he is not my first choice (and Affleck is my last)... However, if there is to be a different actor with a stunt double in a costume, as good as Statham is at martial arts and stunts, Ray Park or Cyril Raffaelli would be the way to go... (just for the action, no speaking parts).

Not Ray Park (or that other guy). They can't act. Acting is the first priority, costumed action can be done by stunt man/CGI.

I didn't mean to have either of them act... I meant as purely the stunt double for the action sequences. "Whoever" would still do the speaking parts in the costume, as well as Murdock.

My point was, if a top actor is used, then there is no point to having Statham as the stunt double, since there are even better stunt men for the action sequences...

Cyril Raffaelli would be perfect as the stunt double for D/D.

He moves just the way an agile comicbook would move - he was awesome as Roth's stunt double in TIH (Mind you, he's been awesome in every movie he's been in).

And I still say Michael C. Hall is perfect as Matt Murdock.

Dudes even got Matt's ginger 70's hairstyle down perfectly :woot::-

Miller would. Hes all about aesthetics. Statham just couldnt do Murdock unfortunately.

What the hell? No man, just no. :(

Ok, so Miller approves. Let's hope Marvel doesn't approve.

That's how i feel, If it was a film where he only had to play DD then sure, but he's all wrong for Murdock IMO.

Never heard of him before. All I need to know is, can he act? Then get the paper work ready.

Michael C. Hall?

Serously? You've never heard of 'Six Feet Under' or 'Dexter'?

Hall's a Golden Globe and Emmy Award-nominated actor.

'Dexter' is one of the best series on tv primarily due to Hall. I seriously recommend watching it - it's great.

Hall would own the part of MM and D/D.

Haven't watched more than one Episode of Six Feet Under. Didn't really interest me. And I don't think Dexter is airing here yet. What's the show about?

Wasnt a fan of Six Feet Under myself - I just know that Hall was good in it (hence the Golden Globe)

Any info you need on Dexter is right here:-

Esentially, By night, he's a serial killer who kills killers (he only kills bad guys). By day, he works for Miami PD forensics.

The shows brilliant and worth looking out for.

Just reading the first 2 paragraphs, this show sounds really great. I'll definitely give it a try.

Im sure with the right director and script it could work but I"m not sold on the idea of Statham being Daredevil.

Being English, I dig Stratham as much as the next guy but Matt Murdock he certainly isn't.

As someone already said on here previously - I can see him making a pretty good Bullseye.

Then Hall it is... with Park handling the fights, and Cyril Raffaelli doing the action sequences involving vertical ascents / descents

Ok, Im definitely starting to feel Hall as Daredevil in a big way. Which is too bad cause I really thought hed make a fantastic Moon Knight. But maybe MK is a little too much like Dexter and that DD would be a better fit for him (I assume as an actor Hall would rather have versatility than a too similar character)

Have you seen American Psycho? Very similar in narration and concept (serial killer who puts on a friendly face for everyone)

Hey, now there's a movie:-

'Patrick Bateman vs Dexter' :woot:

I also think that there are very few red-haired actors (let's face it - the red hair is one of MM's standout characteristics) in Hollywood with the undoubted acting ability of Hall combined with the physical potential which he's shown evidence of in Dexter.

I hated how the tinted Ben Afflecks hair in D/D - it made him look like his hair had rusted.

Come on Hollwood - cast a real ginger-nut. :yay:

Christian Bale at his very best imo - gives a tour de force performance.

Ehhh....the narratives between Patrick Bateman and Dexter are very, very different. The only thing they have in common is that they are both serial killers who are unable to stop killing people because they enjoy it so much. Bateman is a narcissistic, paranoid, sadistic killer with absolutely no code of ethics who even goes as far as to flaunt it in the face of a society that is so self-involved that they pay him no mind and don't even believe him when he tells them outright that he is indeed a killer, laughing at him as if he is just joking. He can't get caught even when he tries. Hell, they can't even get his name straight. "American Psycho" is more a commentary on American society in the 80's and how so self-involved and focused on meaningless crap it was that they were either too busy or too self-absorbed to even identify someone as dangerous and do something about it.

Dexter, on the other hand, understands very well that he's a monster and abhorrs it. He was a creation of his step-father and he also understands that very well as it's a major part of his inner conflict. He channels his deep need to kill by a code of ethics, only killing people who are stone-cold guilty of killing others but untouchable by the law, figuring that if he's going to be a monster he might as well be one that's productive to society, so to speak. Bateman was about creating chaos and narcissism. Dexter is about restoring order where it wouldn't be otherwise and providing a service to society that he ultimately enjoys and needs anyway.

The two characters couldn't be more different, IMHO.
