Looking at the cast list, I think the third is Diedrich Bader, who voiced Batman on The Brave and the Bold. Makes sense, he was also in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.So with Affleck, that makes two Batman’s. Who’s the third?
Who was the old guy with the beard at the end? He looked familiar but I couldn’t place him.
Did you see the last one? Might not be your type of humor. Strikes Back was probably the smartest jab at the industry I had seen that year. It was like a live action Tiny Toons/Animaniacs.
I liked fat Kevin Smith a lot more.
This one didn't look funny, tbh. Dunno why. And I really like Clerks 1-2, Jay & Bob 1 and other prime Smith movies. But maybe the actual film will work better.
I think a lot of it is to do with the fact that Smith has rather wasted his talent away smoking weed and doing podcasts.
They guy had a genuinely brilliant handle of characterisation and dialogue, and his strongest work was always based around that, rather than plot and set piece. His body of work has gradually got worse, because he seems incapable of growing up, and writing honest, interesting stories about people of his own age. That’s where he excelled - telling stories about people like him. But instead of still doing that, he’s constantly living in the past.... rehashing his own work, and making poor genre movies that don’t suit his abilities.
I’d love a Kevin Smith movie that talked about what it’s like to be an aging American white male in a society that’s moving away from people like him being the centre of attention.
But instead we’re getting dick jokes and weed still. Crass and dull.
