BvS Jeremy Irons is Alfred

And then there's this,

:hehe:

I am loving DC's 'No Joke Policy' every day.

:hehe:

Make me your nanny Ben Affleck! :ilv:

Thank god it won't have Marvel type of humor and they are sticking with that they said before. I like british humor like TDKT had some or Guy Ritchie's movies so it's allright... but hell noooooooo to Whedon humor.

Best news ever for me. I don't even give a damn if DC's heroes snap necks of civilians from now.

:lmao:

Anyway, it was a given that they won't go for badly timed quips in DCEU. I don't really see it as a news in that regard... I am happy though that Irons' Alfred is going to remain as sarcastic and witty as the classic iteration of the character, especially since I was worried they'd go for boring "badass" "Earth One" version.

With all the diversity issues happening in Hollywood, i wonder if the fans would be open to Aflred being a woman, instead of a man?

In the comic books Alfred does have a daughter name "Julia".

Maybe in the solo BATMAN movie, Alfred is killed:csad: off and his daugther comes to take over his duties at Wayne Manor/BatCave.

You do realize you just spelled out Batman and Robin right..?

I get it. Bruce and Julia have a one stand and produce a daughter called "Carrie".
Then in another 15 years 60 year Batman and his new Robin go out to fight a street
gang called "The Mutants". And have one last tussle with the Joker.

Jeremy Irons Alfred ftw.

Iron's seems hands on this time around, and looks like like he could kick your butt. And he's an attractive old man ;)

I love him already. He was a fantastic choice for Alfred.

That dry wit, man. This could be my favorite live-action Alfred.

After hearing those rumors that he might be based of "Earth One" version, I was ready to not like this Alfred despite loving Irons as an actor, but I'm so happy that he still has that classic Alfred's dry wit. Now I think it may end up being my favorite live-action Alfred as well.

Biggest departure from classic version I see so far is him being more of a mechanic, but I don't mind this, I think it was needed for us to buy that he and Bruce could have built that batcave and all that tech in secret.

I really liked Alfred from Burton movies, Michael Cain was OK, but I didn't really feel attached, but Jeremy Irons looks freaking amazing. This is gonna be my favorite Bruce-Alfred live action team. I don't even want to start thinking about the solo Batman movie... It's just too good.

We've come along way from Alfred just ironing shirts(Batman Returns) or just wearing a generic butler uniform

not a departure at all. alfred has been a jack-of-all-trades for batman for a long time.

^ In the comics yes but not on screen

All we've gotten since 1989 is a butler who helps on occasion and wears a suit

The generic role

It was nice to see Michael Caine's Alfred branching out a bit

fair enough samurai. when i hear classic for these characters, i think of comics, not the films, but i guess i need to remember i'm on movie and not comic board

You know, I'm liking this more hands-on Alfred who's never hesitant to sass Bruce Wayne, haha. Their banter should be fun.

They should be good together. In fact, I can't think of an Alfred/Bruce dynamic I haven't liked.

It's the combination of being more hands-on (almost like a side-kick) and the dry wit without being aggressive like his Earth One characterization that's doing it for me.
