BvS Jeremy Irons is Alfred

Alfred is going to be the biggest badass in the film. :D

:whatever:

"We didn't get what we wanted, choice is automatically bad! Oh, they cast someone we've mentioned 30 times in this thread? FINALLY, they're doing something right!!!"

:o

That might apply if Timothy Dalton got the role, who was at the top of my,and many people's list.I don't remember anybody clambering for Irons so much.

I guess it must be disheartening to some that they actually cast some one who is both talented and looks the part in this film.:hehe:

Jeremy is a really good casting. As the veteran actor he is, he will bring a lot of charisma to the role.
He looks a little bit "sinister" and villain-ish. I wonder if it will be in focus in the film. Maybe Alfred was a CIA agent in his prime days, then a minor physical damage forced him to "retire".

"Alfred, I need to use a cool, intimidating voice on the superstitious and cowardly lots known as criminals. Can you help?"

"You've come to the right place..."

"Holy $#i+! Tone it down Alfred! I want to scare them, not give them heart attacks!"

Awesome casting! I don't know how in shape Irons is nowadays, but I could see him portray an Alfred who is more physical. :awesome:

I don't really dig it. Irons seems way too stern and kinda mean for lack of a better word. Alfred should feel endearing an fatherly. I dunno, this could be great. Just seems odd to me

Alfred is the consummate Brit.

Irons is the consummate Brit.

All in all, good casting

Caine was more physical than the previous ones, though.

I'm pretty sure an actors job is to act, meaning portraying different types of characters, if I remember correctly that is. :whatever:

Great casting choice. Michael Caine came across as a very 'warm' and social Alfred, I've a feeling this one will be more of a stiff upper-lip English type with some kind of military background as that's the kind of character Irons can do in his sleep. Nonetheless, still 100% devoted to Bruce Wayne's well-being.

Michael Caine Alfred had a military background too. He talked about it in TDK.

Yes, when he talked about the thief in Burma. But they never really explored his military background otherwise, and you would never have guess just from his manner. I'd like Iron's Alfred to be more blatantly ex-English Army.

Michael Caine has played stern and mean before jeesh people doesn't anyone remember his Scrooge in Muppet Christmas Carol.

Really hope they are going with/influenced by the "Earth One" version of Alfred. Irons is perfect for that and it would be a great contrast from Michael Caine's version.

I haven't read the Earth One but seen pictures of Alfred and Irons does look like Alfred there.

Welcome Robin.

Lol, welcome? I've been posting with you for like 10 years.

I remember when everyone was worried you were affected by the bombings in London in '05. It was a much smaller community back then around here.

Earth One was great eras and fantastic take on the Alfred/Bruce relationship. Highly recommend it.

My top choice was Bill Nighy, but I am more than satisfied by this casting. Fantastic casting :D
Unlike Lex.

I meant "welcome back" but I haven't seen you here for a while.

I will try to read the Earth One.

Yeah my posting has been down a lot. But I still lurk for news and to feel the pulse of what people are saying. Still a good place to learn some stuff.

And yes, Earth One is totally worth it.

Without doubt the only piece of casting from this film that gets my 100% approval.
