Just finished the last episode, and an overall 8/10 season for me. I will say the show had particular highs, and a lot of these happened quite early on, such as end of first episode, which really set the tone, and although Tennant's Killgrave scenes remained engaging, I think some of the effect was gradually diminished as things moved along, as you sort of get used to the carnage unfolding before your eyes. It's certainly very dark, and bloody, and largely very well done..

There isn't too much if any goofiness to take you out of it either, as in it finds a tone and keeps to it for largely the whole duration. The one except being the oddball 'unhinged' neighbour lady, who to me seemed to serve mainly as being a dimwit, and someone who subsequently causes a lot of ball ache for Jessica, and who you feel little to no sympathy for with her own particular situation, of her brother's death, largely owing to how annoying she is. Also what was up with her harbouring this unpleasant almost incestuous attachment towards him? I found that whole thing, as well as the dumping of his body a bit weird. There were a couple side plots like that I didn't much care for.

.. but seriously, there is a lot more to love about this show than dislike. However I would put it ever so slightly below Dare Devil right now, but it's very much in the vein of what the Netflix shows are going for, and seems to keep pretty well the same tone the whole way across, which is all you can hope for really. The fights were pretty good (not quite Dare Devil good, but good). The actors were all largely stellar, excepting aforementioned annoying neighbour lady (I forget her character's name owing to lack of paying attention), and the brother was sort of forgettable too. Tennant was solid, and I was majorly impressed with Ritter for what she's done here. And Luke Cage was excellent. Carrie Ann Moss was a suitable slime ball Lawyer. Now I want to go watch Dare Devil again to tide me over until Luke Cage and Dare Devil S2 arrive.

Really well done. Nice to see a female superhero joining the MCU. Ritter was perfectly cast along with everyone else. My only crit would be that she did some more PI work and we saw some more of her attempting to be a hero before she had her run in with Kilgrave.

I liked JJ a bit more than DD. Both are great shows, but the whole Mrs. Cardenas story line in DD was such a bore. There were things I didn't particularly like here, but nothing bore me like that. Overall, I thought the story was a little bit stronger here. I mean, I still love DD, but one of the reasons I love it is because of the fighting/action scenes.

Just finished. An absolutely phenomenal show. The cast was near perfect and all the major player nailed it (especially Tennant). My biggest problem with the show was the whole lawyer divorce subplot, it took up far too much time with very little payoff. But that is a rather minor gripe. Killgrave has to be my favorite Marvel villain yet. He was incredibly threatening and frightening.

All in all, I gave it a 9/10. My favorite superhero tv show yet.

I liked it but didn't feel the same attachment to the characters like I did with Daredevil.

I feel like Nuke may be more a season 2 setup than a Defenders setup, considering it looks like season 2 may revolve around IGH and his obvious ties to it. Same with Fisk being more for a future Daredevil season, I'd say the whole Stick episode was the Defender's setup.

Yeah, that's my thought. Make the Hand a Defenders villain (it adds the "multiple enemies" thing, which is a help for a team-based movie). IGH is a likely season 2 plot for Jessica Jones. Make it much more conspiracy-based rather than pure paranoia like with Killgrave. Let her investigate and crack the case.

Also it's a shame they didn't use Carol Danvers because Rachael Taylor would have been a perfect fit.

I'm sympathetic to the argument that a non-powered character was a better fit. Plus, where else are you going to get Hellcat?

That was a cool moment. I can't wait to see more Luke Cage. His powers are good on film. I like his look of "ok you hit me, How do I explain not getting hurt, and I try not to kill you".

I think he might appear a bit in season 2, but I dont think of the extent of s1. I think he might factor a lot whenever they do Born Again on Daredevil (i'm guessing season 3)

Those of you familiar with comics Nuke, does he stutter/repeat himself often like he did a few times after started popping the pills?

He's just deranged/crazy in general. I don't recall him doing that in the comics, but they could easily just play it as a symptom of his insanity.

I feel like if I didn't know so much about the comics beforehand, then I would've enjoyed Kilgrave (Killgrave)/much more. I just wanted him to be everything he was in the comics. They fleshed out his character very well and Tennant was amazing, but the comic book accurate nerd in me will always hold that small grudge that he wasn't truly 'Zebediah'.

I could be completely wrong, but I thought the stutter might've had to do with him being part robot already. They didn't say that at all in the show, but if you know his back story somewhat, he does repeat himself like he did in the show.

I'd give it a 8/10. I feel like a may be too harsh but I'm just mad that Kilgrave dies.

Grant it, I understand why it works. In a way, Kilgrave is to Jessica Jones what the Reverse-Flash was to the Flash in both of their Season 1s. Jessica killing Kilgrave works and is 100% the right call.

My biggest problem is that I'm not a big Jessica Jones fan. Not that I hate her or dislike her. We all have characters we aren't 100 hyped or interested in. My problem is I am a Daredevil fan and Mark Waid's Purple Children arc is one of my favorite Daredevil stories. Kilgrave has been Daredevil's villain for the longest time and we may not see them face off.

Now Kilgrave could come back. He had a healing factor in the comics but considering we saw Jessica snap his neck makes me feel that him returning would cheapen that moment. Comics are like soap operas. We see many people returning from the dead in the comics but in film and serious TV this feels cheap. There are some people that are exempts. Superman, Ra's, Jean Grey, Bucky, Jason, and others but I just feel like with Kilgrave's death in Jessica Jones it's fitting. He shouldn't come back and I hate that because I was so hyped to see Tennant's Kilgrave against Cox's Daredevil.

It's like I understand why you killed off Kilgrave. It makes sense. If this was a standalone show, I would be fine with it. But it's a show in a Cinematic Universe where Kilgrave's long time comics foe exists in and the fact we may never see them face off is disappointing.

Sigh.

It's a really good show though. I liked Jessica Jones. Mike is a great Luke Cage and Krysten was good as Jessica. While there were changes to Kilgrave's backstory, Tennant's performance made me fine with those changes because he was so great. Cool that Nuke was in it because don't remember Nuke being cast or rumored.

I really just hoped one day down the line we'd see the Purple Children arc in Daredevil. While not in Season 3, some day and it could still happen but wouldn't be as interesting without Tennant.

They said something about Kilgrave's powers being a virus that is spread through the air, I don't get how that works though and is it explained how Jessica is immune to the virus?

Well, viruses can be airborne. And no, they don't explain Jessica's immunity to it, but one could infer that she was able to build one up when [BLACKOUT]she defied his command after killing Reva Connors.[/BLACKOUT]

My interpretation is that Jessica spent so much time around him that she just became acclimated to whatever Kilgrave was doing.
Just finished the show and I loved it. I started out mildly unimpressed, which initially concerned me given how into Daredevil I was right from the start. But it got better and better with each episode. Kilgrave was deliciously evil and I loved every second he was on screen.

Just finished and loved the show, but the ending was a bit of a letdown. I didn't have that "**** yeah" excitement for season 2 like I did with Daredevil. Still, really great television. Will probably watch again in the future.

I don't think it was necessary time alone, his parents spent years with hime and never became immune, I think her powers contributed to her body being able to develop an immunity over time.

I get that it can be airborn but I don't get how he actually controls people with it, get what I mean?

Well in the comics, it is like some sort of pheromone that works its way into others body. Pheromones give off a certain signal in humans and they react accordingly. Since this is a show set in a world where aliens exist, pheromones aren't that complicated to grasp and is easy to believe. In the comics, Elektra took him out in an issue by holding her breath and he was unable to get to her.

True. I admittedly came to that conclusion rather quickly so I'm sure it isn't correct.

Do you guys reckon they shouldn't have killed off Kilgrave?

Its possible the virus he gives off affects the mind, making them so susceptible to suggestion.

Why did simpson shoot the cop and burn the evidence? What was he trying to achieve?
