I'm speechless. Utterly.![]()
What's sad is that you're probably right.

I'm not probably right. I'm definetely right. The Democratic Party has taken so much advantage of the union vote that they don't have to do anything at all and they'd still vote Democrat.
The Republicans don't even try to get the union vote simply because they will not get it no matter how hard they try.
It's why they're completely politically irrelevant in today's world. Unions really need to shape up badly if they want to regain relevancy.
I'm not talking about a party that's just there to please the union. I'm talking about a social democratic party like, I should have said a labor party, my bad.
I know what you mean. A party that represents all workers. But really, the only worker voter base in this country is the unions. The rest are really just splintered off into other groups such as evangelicals, minorities, age, regional groups such as the South, etc.
And these groups have other interests in mind (such as religion and immigration) than labor.
Very true, and that's what keeps this country from making significant progress.
this is a non-issue, in my opinion.
They never winI would be hated by most Republicans and would be called conservative by the Democrats. I see my self of more as a Liberal Republican...it's an oxymoron I know.

IMO, the best labor/employer relationship out there is one where they can both screw each other over. Sorta like at where I work. Yeah, my job is a piece of crap and my boss can be a huge a**hole, but in return for my hard work I've been given several raises, good job security, a good reputation, etc. and if anybody quits, the entire place is screwed for a little while.
I'd prefer a Christian president over any other every day of the week, and twice on Sunday. the moment we get a disbeliever in the White House, that's when everything starts on the road to hell.

You can say what you want about him, at least he was being honest. And in today's conniving, PC-policed society, how often do we ever hear an honest statement from a politician.
The thing is, he's not. Up until this run for the presidency, he was decrying Robertson and Falwell as agents of intolerance, and it was implicit that he had no truck with the political philosophies of the Moral Majority. But since his run as a maverick didn't win him the election back in 2000 against Bush's appeal to the Christian Right, now his campaign advisers think that this is the base of the Republican party. So, every Republican (and even the Democrats) are trying to out-Christian each other to steal votes from the other runners. Never mind that this ruins McCain's integrity, something that he has depended on as a crux of his sales pitch... he has to play to the base. Honestly, it is a base that should not exist, but hucksters like Falwell got idiots like Movies2k4 to believe that the most important thing to look for in a president is whether or not he thinks of Jesus as he wipes his ass with the Constitution... so the rest of us end up ****ed.
